As Tip's neice, I appreciate those of you who shared stories or memories of Tip.  He was my fav uncle and we spent a lot of time together.  I admired him and hope to someday be more like him.  He was truly a biker with the biggest heart I.  He lived every moment of his life to the fullest and never asked for anything in return.  He'd be there for anyone no matter what.  I cry every time I think of him now and wish he was still here.   He loved and accepted everyone for who they were.
By the way, he was the safest cycle driver anyone ever met.  He taught numerous people in our area how to drive their cycles.  Everyone knew he was very cautious when he rode his bikes.  Also, there is no helmet law in MN and getting hit by an SUV at the speed she was traveling wouldn't have made any difference.
Our family has knows the woman did not intend to do what she did.  We, unfortunately, have lost one of the most generous, amazing, and completely selfless men ever born.

I love him and miss him with all my heart.

Don't let the grieving process hinder you from making her insurance company play fair ball. Insurance companies count on this from families whose suffered great loss and are not in the mood to seek fair pay out. Her insurance company is responsible for a very substantial wrongful death liability.

Oh yes, sue, sue, sue. It may not make you feel better, but it will make that stupid woman's insurance company pay. When are you going to see that when someone sues it raises the insurance premiums for everyone? Yes, the are entitled to sue, but maybe a little compassion for the relatives of Tip would have been a better response.

Just curious if it has been proven that the driver of the SUV was at fault.  I never heard exactly how it happened.  Also curious if there is really a problem with the lights out there.

I haven't noticed a problem.  What is the nature of the problem supposed to be?

Huh? Are you stupid. Court cases are won on merit. Ensuring that companies play fair does not raise premiums, they lower premiums. Don't tell these folks to just accept what the insurance company is offering. There have lawyers working hard on their behalf. but they are not supposed to do get an attorney because YOU'RE scared that your premiums will rise. One, it's untrue, two, you're just thinking of yourself. Get lost.

Yes. I am stupid. And I am also an idiot...a lost idiot now, I guess. I should have figured out that when the insurance companies pay out a million dollars for an accident it would lower my premium. I am so sorry. I don't think I said they shouldn't sue, but you on the otherhand start screaming "sue them" for everything that pops up on here. Do you honestly think families have to be told that they can sue? Are you dense?

No problem with the lights!!!  The lady ran the red light way after it turned red.

You realize "kiddie" that their is a seven second delay before the green light comes on.  Tip wouldn't have died if the lady actually stopped at the RED light for goodness sakes even my 4 year olds know that green means "go" and red means "stop".

Yes mamma your right that the way insurance works that is partly why freeborn county premiums are so high it is assinine.

Wrong. They're high because insurance companies have bought and paid for your representitives. Even just last week a Florida insurance firm paid a one million dollar penalty for buying republicans in MN. THAT'S why they are high. Make no mistake about it. The insurance only pays for coverage that their clients are liable for. That's what "merits of the case mean".

If she ran a red light, it had to be on purpose, or a major brain fart.

Freckleface, u know who I am (I posted for you to find it) please excuse some of the people in this forum, while some mean well, others are like the pain in the backend in the classroom who's jokes were never funny, that we all have had to deal with at one time or another. For the most part, the postings by ppl who knew him were wonderful and I am so glad that you logged on.
