If Rummy wins with a bigger margin in the house, we just might get some better energy policies :)

What color is the sky in the fantasy world you live in?  :p

The only people that will be getting better energy policies are 'people' like BP, ExxonMobil and other oil giants.

Riiiight...  :p

The oil industry is quite happy with fuel prices where they sit. Do you honestly believe that some simple rule of supply and demand will change that? That ship has sailed, I'm afraid.

OPEC will not allow crude oil to drop below $75.00 per barrel.. The more we produce, the more they cut production.. No Benefit when it comes to prices..  Domestic Oil Production Has Soared Under President Obama..

Coal production is up for 2nd year..

Nuclear requires a large amount of investment $$$.. Obama has supported the first new nuclear power plant in three decades in Georgia..

Actually you got it all wrong:

More oil just means more to export, no lowers prices for us. Actually prices will go up as big oil will need somebody to pay for all the new infrastructure and equipment needed to drill oil here just to send it somewhere else.

The extreme cost of building new coal or nuclear plants would probably raise energy prices as the utilities will have to recoup these costs as soon as possible.

Energy is about the only commodity that when supply is up prices go up and when demand is down prices still go up. And on top of that you have the "rocket up, flutter down" pricing model, it all adds up to us lowly consumers getting screwed.

You have not got a clue to what "good business" is numbnuts :dunce:

Coal production is at a 5 year low

And $75 oil used to mean about $2 to $2.50 gas

But say what you want, with obummer at the helm gas will climb and cheap electricity will be nothing but a fond memory

Putting people back to work fixing our infratucture? Sure, what are you gonna pay them with?

We actually have a surplus of gas, they just hold onto it and push the price up. Why do you think that Keystone pipeline to the gulf is  so important to the oil barons? That is where they have refineries AND world shipping. They export the hell out of it now. Get your head out of the clouds. :frusty:

The market will not bear $7 gas. If it could now or in the future it will be $7 no matter who is president. If oil drops to $60 or even $50 a barrel gas prices will not change much because big oil knows we can/will/be forced to pay $3.89.

Actually Warren Buffet benefits mostly from the pipeline veto, must be nice to own a railroad.
