Unfortunately one does not have to believe in hell to enter in, the only requirement for that is to NOT believe in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  :(

That whole bit doesn't sound very loving OR understanding. What if the one person you loved most in the world, either a child or partner, started thinking christianity might not be right, and decided to become atheist or a different religion? Since YOU are christian, you go to heaven, but your loved one goes to hell to be tormented forever and ever?? If you knew your loved one was going to be in everlasting misery that wouldn't bother you? You would still be in "heaven"? I can never get an honest answer on this question.

Funny you should use a lion for an avatar and BAAA like a lamb.  The lion is the symbol for the tribe of Judah from which Christ came.  He is referred to as the Lion of Judah.   He is also referred to the Lamb of God.

QUOTE
Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals.  And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?”  But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it.  I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside.  Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”
Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.  He went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne.  And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb.  Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.  And they sang a new song, saying:

“You are worthy to take the scroll
  and to open its seals,
because you were slain,
and with your blood you purchased for God
persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.
You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,
and they will reign on the earth.”

Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders.  In a loud voice they were saying:

“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!”

Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:

“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!”

The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.

WOW did you not only just massively miss the mark on that one, but also proved clearly how religious FOLLOWERS misinterpret and manipulate what is written to suit their needs!

I'm sorry for you.  Not only am I right on the mark, I gave the verses to back my post.  Jesus died for us as a sacrificial lamb, but when He returns, He will return as a lion.  The Lion of Judah who will take with Him those who believe and condemn for all eternity those whose names are not in the book of life.

Maddog, what if you have been misled? Jesus questioned authority. What do you think Jesus would have thought about the early churches? The crusades? Killing people who disagreed with religious doctrine? The church used to teach that the sun revolved around the earth, and put to death people who disagreed with them. That's just one of the many things they did that I am pretty sure Jesus would disagree with. What do you think Jesus would think about the big expensive fancy churches built in "his honor"?
I don't think Jesus would mind if people questioned things. He taught people to think outside the box all the time. Just because the book says it is true, doesn't mean it is. I honestly think christians owe it to Jesus and God, to think more for themselves, and question the book and dogma. I doubt anyone will be condemned for taking a look at it all a bit differently.

Maddog,

I chose the lion because I am a LEO, but if you want to go all religious about it, perhaps I am JESUS after all!  I spouted off the "BAAAA" in reference to you SHEEPLE, blindly led and brainwashed over religion.  I don't care what your book tells you about it.  More has been debunked in that book than confirmed.

You can pray for me all you want, feel sorry for me all you want, and try to preach to me all you want.  All you will do is end up wasting your time, your emotions, and reinforcing my disbelief in the dogma.

I am a free-thinker!

you wouldnt know it. /// King James Bible
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

JESUS DID THE ORGANIZING for His church and whenever men go beyond that pattern (found only in the New Testament of Jesus Christ) they do so at their own peril. One needs to only read the New Testament to see the problem that has been created over the last two centuries within the churches.
