I understand.  Here's a little story for you.

"There was a landowner who planted a vineyard and put a wall around it and dug a wine press in it, and built a tower, and rented it out to vine-growers and went on a journey.  When the harvest time approached, he sent his slaves to the vine-growers to receive his produce.  The vine-growers took his slaves and beat one, and killed another, and stoned a third.  Again he sent another group of slaves larger than the first; and they did the same thing to them.  But afterward he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’  But when the vine-growers saw the son, they said among themselves, ‘This is the heir; come, let us kill him and seize his inheritance.’  They took him, and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.

Therefore when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vine-growers?”  They said to Him, “He will bring those wretches to a wretched end, and will rent out the vineyard to other vine-growers who will pay him the proceeds at the proper seasons.”

QUOTE
"If serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”-Joshua 24:15

JESUS DID THE ORGANIZING for His church and whenever men go beyond that pattern (found only in the New Testament of Jesus Christ) they do so at their own peril. One needs to only read the New Testament to see the problem that has been created over the last two centuries within the churches.

Without Gods help there aint no hope for us
Counting on us (mere humans) is quite narcissistic!  We need more than a dominant interest in ourselves to be
effective at finding that serenity

Tell me, why is it only HUMANS that choose to make up a god?  Why don't we see animals, ANY animals, congregating for prayer?

On that note, humans have to rely on each other.  Belief that something of higher power (god) is in total control of our lives makes us idle.  Why should we bother to better ourselves, as humans have done for centuries, if something else is in total control?  Why not just sit idle by and let it happen?  Because it doesn't work, that's why!

I think you may have misinterpreted the song lyrics. He is saying that it shouldn't matter if one believes in God or Jesus or anything. We should be able to live together peacefully and make the world a better place, no matter what our belief. Fighting over whose religion is the right one is pretty much insane. Ozzy didn't say that last part...I did. You can believe whatever you want, I can believe whatever I want, we should be able to get along and try to fix other problems in the world. Leave other peoples' souls to God.

Think about it...
You said [...it doesnt work, thats why!]
IF that is the case then why are our many of our CURRENT laws based on Gods Commandments?
Thou Shall Not KILL
Thou Shall Not Steal
Thou Shall Not Covet thy neighbors goods
Thou Shall Not Bear False Witness against they neighbor
Breaking these are prosecutable crimes according to todays standards...
These laws are based on moral precepts...
and it IS working...they are still laws...right?

Rosalind,
Just making the moral decision to [live together peacefully and make the world a better place] is what it is all about!  That IS Gods Plan! You get it
