QUOTE (Zzz @ Aug. 30 2011,4:25 pm)
QUOTE (Joink @ Aug. 29 2011,11:27 pm)
QUOTE Why not call everybody, not only Christians to unite in prayer. God will hear us all. Because as Christians we believe Christ is God and therefore pray in Jesus name to our Father in heaven. Believing that God the Father will answer our prayers in the name of Jesus is pretty much the point of the christian gathering. Christianity is prejudice against ALL other religions. That is why they only want Christians. Christ is not (repeat: NOT) god. How will so many believing in the wrong idea ever get it right? Jesus was a simple man, a carpenter, born of limited means, that taught an idea to who ever would listen, and thus the basis of Christianity was born. I USED to be a Christian.. but got tired of all the elitist attitude and the B.S. You could say, I opened my eyes and learned to think for myself The word “Godhead” is found in Acts 17:29; Romans 1:20 and Colossians 2:9 in the King James Bible. All modern corrupt Bible versions completely remove this critical word, “Godhead.” Satan wants to deceive you concerning the Godhead. The word “Trinity” may not be in the Bible, but the word “Godhead” most certainly is. Why would anyone remove this word from the Bible? It's because the Devil wants to deceive you.
Colossians 2:9 says, "...For in him [Jesus] dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily."
-------------- JESUS DID THE ORGANIZING for His church and whenever men go beyond that pattern (found only in the New Testament of Jesus Christ) they do so at their own peril. One needs to only read the New Testament to see the problem that has been created over the last two centuries within the churches.

Sorry to rain on your parade Breeze, but there is no devil, satan or whatever you want to call the reason for evil. Here is a thought to ponder. We all share this wonderful loving and forgiving God and I assure you he/she is not going to give us up to a devil to burn in hell forever. Sorry, but that just isn't going to happen. Man (religion) created the devil to keep the flock in line with fear of eternal damnation if you didn't comply with their version of religion. We are all part of God. God is everywhere.

The word Satan is mentioned over 30 times in just the new testament. That doesn't take into consideration any other of the names used to descibe him such as the accuser, the adversary, antichrist, the beast, the deceiver and devil. The list goes on. He that is of this earth, the enemy, power of darkness, the prince of the power of the air. How many names would you like? Jesus himself had several encounters with the devil.

•"Our knowledge of the historical worth of certain religious doctrines increases our respect for them, but does not invalidate our proposal that they should cease to be put forward as the reasons for the precepts of civilization. On the contrary! Those historical residues have helped us to view religious teachings, as it were, as neurotic relics, and we may now argue that the time has probably come, as it does in an analytic treatment, for replacing the effects of repression by the results of the rational operation of the intellect." •"The whole thing is so patently infantile, so foreign to reality, that to anyone with a friendly attitude to humanity it is painful to think that the great majority of mortals will never be able to rise above this view of life. It is still more humiliating to discover how a large number of people living today, who cannot but see that this religion is not tenable, nevertheless try to defend it piece by piece in a series of pitiful rearguard actions."...Sigmund Freud

That quote from Freud was a reference to an interview he was giving about his cocaine addiction and his reversal on his thoughts about having used it...to excess. Oh...and I agree Lib!
