QUOTE (Joink @ Aug. 29 2011,11:27 pm)
QUOTE Why not call everybody, not only Christians to unite in prayer. God will hear us all. Because as Christians we believe Christ is God and therefore pray in Jesus name to our Father in heaven. Believing that God the Father will answer our prayers in the name of Jesus is pretty much the point of the christian gathering. Christianity is prejudice against ALL other religions. That is why they only want Christians. Christ is not (repeat: NOT) god. How will so many believing in the wrong idea ever get it right? Jesus was a simple man, a carpenter, born of limited means, that taught an idea to who ever would listen, and thus the basis of Christianity was born.
I USED to be a Christian.. but got tired of all the elitist attitude and the B.S. You could say, I opened my eyes and learned to think for myself

What bothers people more... the fact others disagree w/them, or that the others just might be right after all?

I USED to be a Christian.. but got tired of all the elitist attitude and the B.S. You could say, I opened my eyes and learned to think for myself Christianity does not teach prejudice. That does not mean there is no prejudice in Christians. As followers of Christ we all know that we are suppose to lead our lives as God would like us to, but none of us are perfect. All of us sin, but we believe that God is a forgiving God.
Of course it is our and God's desire for all of us to be Christians. He gives each of us that choice. To believe in Him or not. As Christians, we are to share our faith, not force or demand it of you. God gives you the opportunity to make the biggest decision of your life. How you live it, you live it by your choice.
Christ is not God? I give you half credit on that one. Christ is not God. God is the father and Jesus His son. One is of the other though. John 14:11 says "Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves."
Jesus did lead a simple life, the son of a carpenter. He did teach an idea; He taught the words of God and taught those around him how they should live. He taught them how to treat each other and He taught how we should love God. He did great things and He offered himself for us as the ultimate sacrifice.
Jesus taught His disciples to teach others about Him after He was gone. Matthew 28:19,20 "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Perhaps I believe in one more god than you. If that is true, I'm willing to share mine with you.

No I am not suggesting that. There is only one true God, and it is written, "You shall have no other gods before me."

Reminds me of a phrase,"Comes a time, when a blind man takes your hand, says don't you see?"

QUOTE "I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."
Stephen F. Roberts
There's one God in your religion, because it says so in a book written by goat herders in the middle east starting around 5000 years back. Personally, I can't see taking a cave dwelling goat herder's word on something like that.
