Years ago the city wouldnt grade the alley behind my house so I threatened to get a writ of mandamus to force them to do their job. The City Attorney said, "We'll just give you the land" and the next thing I knew I had a second lot valued at $0.
After about 10 years they changed it and said it had some value and they started taxing me a couple dollars a year for the alley. Of course I don't plan on paying it and I'll let them take my alley back so we'll be right back where we started in a couple years and my alley still won't be fixed.

Daniel Claussen currently has 33 feet of road frontage on 224th St..
16.5 feet wide by 50 feet deep of road frontage on 224th St has been used for a turnaround(cul de sac) by Bancroft Township and the Public(USPS, Garbage Removal, local traffic, etc.) for over 70 years..
He would still have 16.5 feet of road frontage for access in the winter if he chose to keep it cleared..
Other than in the winter time, he could use all 33 feet to come and go as he pleased..
Its a no brainer.. Come on Dan, I know you're smarter than that..

That's exactly much how my problem started, I just wanted them to do their job. Next time I won't threaten with a writ of mandamus I'll just get one.

The Bancroft Township grader just used the turnaround of 70 years instead of backing all the way down the road..
Why has Bancroft Township and Denny Jensen refused to use the turnaround during this past winter?
I really feel that some people enjoy complicating what is actually very simple.. 
Here's to another 70 years of a public turnaround at the dead end of 224th St..

This is what the Bancroft Township grader gets to see when he pulls into the turnaround at the dead end of 224th St..
How many vehicles could get around that temporary rusty gate?

I know this was the first winter that Bancroft Township refused to use this turnaround in 47 years..
I know this turnaround (cul de sac) has been around for over 70 years..
Glen Mathiason and his fellow Freeborn County Commissioners should make it a point to resolve the legality of the turnaround(cul de sac) that has existed for over 70 years at the dead end of 224th St..
