Does anyone besides me find it strange that the sheriff's dept must hold fund raisers to buy weapons to bring them up to date? Why can't they be funded by the taxpayers whom the sheriff's dept is pledged to protect?? Is there a reason our Mr Belshan can't find the money our doesn't he think our law enforcement people need firepower equal to the bad guys??? Would be nice to hear from our elected officials on this............

Minnow, Mr Belshan is the only commisioner to post on the forum. Perhaps you haven't noticed that he seems to have an opinion on everything.

Is that better than no opinion at all? BS, you're just posting to bash someone who you disagree with. That's dumb. Why not tell us what really bothers you and why?

I think that the taxpayers are too busy funding the Chamber to be able to fund the sheriff's department.
But seriously, I think that there is no harm in holding fundraisers. You can really guage what people think by the results of fundraisers sometimes.

Then lets hope the sheriff's dept fundraisers are all well attended, so the needs of the dept can be met..........

Bad guys, is plural, which makes it sound like there has been more than one incident that a criminal had better firepower. I'm starting to think they're glad that the bank was robbed by a guy with a full-auto weapon, otherwise they wouldn't be able to have a shopping spree at the gun store and believe its actually necessary. Does anyone remember the clips of the guy who stole a tank from an armory, and went driving around the city demolishing things in his path. Why didn't the local police in that area get a tank to "match the firepower of the bad guys" after that happened?

Lets wait until some idiots like those in Los Angles outgun the cops and then let our police force go to a gun store in the middle of a shoot out to get the guns that they need, ya rite.
