What Jim is saying is correct, there were a lot of pi$$ed off people up at the courthouse when Gabe moved his office out of the building and over to H.S. building.     People do come to us with "you should check on us". frequently.

Hey, construction is messy, loud and difficult work.  The problem with being able to hear was and at times is still a real problem.  However, the logistics involved in moving the communications room was decided in the overall plan to systematically move.

Just plopping officers all over the city would be a disaster.  There are always going to be inconveniences in a project as complex, but the engineers and the individual departments worked very closely to make the process as easy as possible.

Now dispatchers DO need to be able to hear, no argument, yet it would be difficult to conduct the administration of the project and all other county buisness in the middle of the debris piles and incoming materials; don't you think.  The noise issue was short lived and it comes and goes in short increments.  I can not argue and concede the point about the building project not going to a referendum, it's a big chunk of ching to build the new government center.  However, there were so many cost issues that the average voter would fail or refuse to recognize, if we had continued to try to conduct the counties duties and business in the old facilities.  The list is long with overcrowding in the jail, and security being cheif among them.  This county had been operating with a building that was not designed to do its job and the costs and risks were too long ignored.  The new facility was necessary.

I must simply say that the remainder of the information the alleged contact provided was absolutely, unequivocally false.

The "I didn't get what he got jealousy" is a huge problem among the county and city departments and personel.  Its childish and foolish garbage, usually.

Are you saying that with all of the empty buildings available in the area, ONE LOCATION couldn't have been found to house them?  Armory?  West Side Clinic?  Lea Center?  Vault? The rest of the High School?  The round school?

As it is, we have the Administrator in the old school, offices in the old Armory, Commissioners in City Hall, Engineer in the County Garage, and officers in "temporary" offices in the basement of the 1880s building (that the preservationists want so badly to keep, and which has an acknowledged Radon problem).  THAT seems more like "plopping officers all over the city" than any scenario I could come up with.  :p

LOL! :D  Somebody on the Trib. forum mentioned running for office--I'm running FROM office!  The first thing I'd have to do if I ran for office is to abolish my job!

Actually, I said I'd put something down in writing--do something SO REPREHENSIBLE THAT IT WOULD PRECLUDE MY ATTAINING OFFICE--BUT WITH THE CURRENT CROP OF POLITICIANS, I HAVEN'T FOUND ANYTHING THAT MEETS THAT LOW STANDARD! :D

Let us agree you don't know enough about logistics as it pertains to this topic Jim.  Fair enough.  Thank you.  Manage the airport and we'll take care of the rest.
