I get the pleasure of working up at Camp Ripley this weekend providing support for some exercises going on between here and Ft. Sill and someplace in Idaho.  I took the time this morning to drive around the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery next door and snap some pix and pay my respects to our fallen heroes.
I know many of you on here served, and although we may disagree on some political issues, I think we all agree that serving this great country is a noble deed.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Are you participating in those exercises that was advertised in the paper? They needed civilians for up to 12 hours a day.

No.  I am up here as paid support from my company for radio comm's.
There are a lot of people here from the lakes area/St. Cloud that are providing support though.  Good money if you can get in. All sorts of people are here... IT, network, radio techs, network engineers.  They do have a lot of clerical work too.

The Truth is often brutal GIL, every war during our lifetime has been about profit or empire building at the expense of the common soldier and taxpayer! There is no honor in killing and crippling our youth to enrich those tied to the Military Industrial Complex!

I would expect more of you GIL, that’s what inappropriate, those of you who can’t grasp the insanity of our militaristic glorification!

While I cannot completely disagree with the first part of your post, in sure even you can grasp the original intent of this thread. If you want to start a topic on that feel free, but don't hijack the well intentions of those of us that want to honor those who chose to serve, 99% of whom had no decision making powers in what/ where to invade. Even you, in your  hate filled state, must be able to comprehend that! That is what truly saddens me about your disgust, that you are putting it on the wrong shoulders. Please do not denigrate those who put something above themselves for this great country.
