QUOTE Ted? Please, one of the most self serving politicians there was. You can't put turbines out there, that is where I sail!! Lately, it seems as if all politicitions are self-serving. They've got all those pretty windmill thingys down by AL now. They look good don't they? Our govt has gone over the top with recklessness. Look how many different governmental agencies we now have just in law enforcement. They have pissing matches and try to get one over on the other. Our governing body does it across the board. They have lost focus that they are there for US. They have made it about them. EXISTENCE is top priority. Now they are flaunting it on a world scale. How pathedic. Our govt speak of unrest in other countries, while they practice the same thing right here. We are becoming the laughing stock of the world.
Those wind turbines are probably a bigger tourist attraction than you think. You don't personally get anything out of it so you are against it. I still look at them in awe.

Technology on alternative energy is making advances, like it or not. Would the subsidies dry up before the oil subsidies do? If so, WHY?

QUOTE The IRS Is Giving Away $13 Billion A Year In Wind Energy Subsidies, Without Congressional AuthorizationThe main federal handout for the wind energy industry has grown considerably despite the fact that it expired at the end of 2013. Over the past two years, IRS administrators have relaxed the eligibility requirements to make it easier for in-progress wind farm projects to qualify for government subsidies (known in Washington as the ‘production tax credit’ or “PTC ”). The IRS has done so repeatedly and quietly, often without action from Congress.
QUOTE What do we have to show for government subsidies of wind power? For the past 23 years, the federal government has subsidized wind power with tens of billions of taxpayer dollars through the Production Tax Credit (PTC). What do we have to show for it? Wind energy only supplied 1.6 percent of total U.S. energy in 2014. Now the Department of Energy wants to reach a ridiculous goal of 20 percent wind energy by 2030. The fledgling wind industry has no hope of reaching that goal on its own, and the government wants to stick the American taxpayer with the bill to sustain an industry that can't sustain itself.

Great contribution to the discussion, is that your best? Nope, just a passing though in response to your major contribution

QUOTE Seems to me that for most all of Vietnam, there was a dem in office. LBJ instituded a few assaults. Operation Rolling Thunder comes to mind. Wow LBJ, what a really bad joke Nixon was Commander in Chief during my military years, he's the one who sold US out. he probably got another 25,000 of US killed and countless wounded and damaged for life. All because he undermined the Paris peace talks for his own political ambition. Nixon was Eisenhower's VP they got US into that quagmire, why is it Republican's always want to do that empire building. So Nixon got US in and then sold US out!
