NOW I WILL EXPECT AN APOLOGY FOR YOU BEING VERY RUDE, IGNORANT AND STUPID!!  Perhaps you should have asked yourself BEFORE you started spouting off "who is this person Bookworm is speaking for? A PARENT? Perhaps a GRANDPARENT? Any RELATIVE?? Or just a friend?"  "Who am I refering to as an 'IT'??"

Well I will give you the answer to that!!  I was speaking for my MOTHER ........WHOM DOES HAVE MY UTMOST RESPECT!! AAs for her speaking up and making a difference......She has never nor will she ever...........WAIT A MINUTE!!!  I REFUSE TO DEFEND HER OR HER ACTIONS (OR LACK OF)TO THE LIKES OF YOU!!

Now........I await your aplogy!!

Bookworm
I am sorry my politically correct use of pronouns upset you. You started it.
I am sorry I thought Bookworms were like earthworms, hermaphrodites, hence my use of "it".
I am sorry you called me names when you didn't agree with my opinion.
I am sorry that you have to live in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Your bitterness is understood.
I am glad you respect your Mom, however I still think had she spoken up with hundreds and hundreds of others, your town wouldn't be in the situation it is, and for that I'm sorry, too.

Greatestadvocate, the State of Minnesota would have to give you that information. I can only narrow it down to a very broad geographic location (like the city they are in)

I'm ignorant to this IP stuff. What about City and County govt. computers, do they have State of Minn. IP's?  If someone has a lap-top owned by the state, county, or city, can this be identified by the IP. Or is it just the internet connection that the laptop is hooked up to, that's Id'd by the IP.  Sorry if this is a dumb question.  Like I said I'm ignorant.

I wonder about IP's at Riverland.  They might all tie back to the dept of Admin.  City and County users should not.

You're judging someones actions (or lack thereof), when you don't know anything about the person other than they are a "listener", instead of very opinionated and outspoken.  You don't know whether the person votes (and unfortunately the majority of people often don't), and aren't taken that into consideration.  A lot of people are very opinionated, but often they're also very ignorant because they aren't good listeners.

Blaming citizens for the problems of our government is easy to do, but until you know the individual fairly well, you can't make an intelligent conclusion.

Well spoken I respect your opinion.
However an uneducated quiet populous is destined to become an unhappy  bitter populous unarmed with the one weapon it needs. The ability and courage to speak out  inform and educate others.
There is a time to stand up and fight for what is right no matter how uncomfortable it feels. (look at the 4 who sued the County on rule 19)
No one in your town is being held accountable for wasting tax money and lack of growth, they are only being rewarded with wage increases and golden parachutes.
Maybe this election will be different. We'll soon know in November.
Don't attack others for idea's outside the box. If your theory's are  correct I encourage you to be vocal for change . Don't sit and wait for years then tell only a family member about the problems you've seen with the community. That empowers the status quo.
My opinion should also be respected. I am sorry if this offends anyones mother.

co.freeborn.mn.us
albertlea.k12.mn.us
riverland.cc.mn.us
selco.lib.mn.us
So if e-mail extensions indicate a State of MN computer (it looks like it does), county govt., schools, colleges, and even public computers at local libraries would all have State of MN IP's.  Is this correct Liberal?

DrBombay, it identifies the connection not the computer.

After you mentioned the City and County, I spent a little more time looking at the IP information.

Normally an IP address only tells someone what internet service provider you use. But, if you're using a  government or school computer your IP address reveals a little more useful information about where the computer is connected. I don't know about the City of Albert Lea computers because I didn't take the time to check. But, Riverland does go through the Dept of Admin. but, it's a different part of the network.
And Selco uses Qwest and the school district looks like they use SMIG

When I checked to see if Freeborn and Mower county used that same network I found the answer to both questions.

Here is the end of a traceroute to Freeborn counties computers.
Quote

 15  10   - 207.171.87.165  St. Paul            mankato-hub-atm2-0-850.r.state.mn.us
 16  10   - 207.171.109.13  St. Paul            albertlea-sc-s0-0.r.state.mn.us

and here is the same thing for Mower county.
Quote

 15  10   - 207.171.94.81   St. Paul            rochester-hub-atm2-0-880.r.state.mn.us
 16  10   - 207.171.109.65  St. Paul            austin-sc-s0-0.r.state.mn.us

So, that means "Truth" was posting from a Freeborn County computer.

And the post from "Shallow" about Quincy Borland came from a Mower county computer at about 11:30 on a Saturday night.
