Since this is my first post on here, I'm gonna try to get a heated topic started up.
I have been playing paintball for 4 years, tournament paintball for around 2, own around $2000 worth of equipment. So my question to you guys is this,
What do you think of paintball?
Thought I'd give everyone a topic that actually requires thinking and a topic that is very well hidden to the rest of the world.

I used to play "guns" all the time as a child. And I'd always win by acting like a cat. Think about it. No animal is a better hunter. It's all about silence, stalking, patience and the element of surprise.

That's what kind of urks me. Everyone thinks that paintball is all about playing in the woods and having stealthy actions. Whenever I tell someone that I play paintball, the first question they ask is, but not in this form, "what woods do you usually play in?" I don't play in the woods. I drive a hour an a half to the nearest field in any direction to go play an certified field and play on a speedball field. A speedball field is a field that has bunkers lined up on the field and you have to "hide" behind the bunkers to try and get everyone out. Sorry if it seems like I snapped, I just get a little heated when people think that paintball is all played in the woods.

Well, your way is no fun. It's just point and shoot. Do you sell paint balls or something? LOL

Sounds like fun for young people. I understand from my kids that you wear protective gear to do this stuff. You know, I think I might like to try it.

ok...that changed my mind. If it hurts I don't want to play. I have enough pain of my own without asking for more.

I'm pretty ignorant of paintballing, but it sounds like fun. Are there also obstacle course-type fields? There used to be a paintball field just north of the IA-115/I-80 intersection (it'd be across from where McDonalds and BP are now, on the right side as you head south), and it had all sorts of weird towers, shelters, etc. all over the place.

minnow fan-I usually go to MN Pro Paintball in Lakeville whenever I have time to go play. Other than that......I just go where ever the tournaments are.
Tiger-yea, it hurts the 1st few times you get hit but after a while.....you get pretty used to it
Clovis-yea......paintball fields can have weird towers, shelters, etc.......that's called sceneraio paintball. In sceneraio paintball, there's a story line behind it, true or fake. For example, there's this sceneraio game called D-Day down in Oklahoma, it lasts for 3 days and it's based on the actual D-Day from WWII. Over the 3 days, they tally up who ever has the most points,(don't ask me how the point system works)that side, German or American, win. The past few years it's always been the German's...
dyn-o-mite-no I don't sell paintballs, but I would like to.
