Ah paintball, one of my first true loves next to music. I got my first set of guns back in the early 90’s. Cost me a little over $300 for two guns, goggles, a pack of CO2 cartridges and some paintballs. One was a single shot pump and the other had a magazine with 4 chambers that held 5 shots in each chamber, you just twisted the magazine and you had 5 more shots ready to go. Trying to rapid fire them was a messy mistake, they ever get that problem fixed yet? Me and a buddy of mine got antsy one night after I got my guns and we decided to go out and shoot at each other for a while, mind you, it is mid January. Paint balls (at least back then) had a tendency to freeze in the cold we found out. I shot him while he was running backwards shooting at me, grazed right above his eye and gave him a little cut, then he snuck up on me from behind and sunk one point blank to my kidney for payback. All in all it really is a fun sport and an excellent way to get rid of some pent-up or extra aggression. A place over in Roch used to rent the stuff, and if you had enough people they would even come in a big truck with everything you needed (except obstacles) for a paintball war.

Boy, that's gonna look good out of context.

***Shameless Plug***
Johnny's Hobby downtown (two doors north of Sterling Drug on Broadway) sells paintball stuff and refills CO2 cartridges.
(sorry 'bout that, hubby has his nascar stuff set up there and I had to bring in some business )

Ole1kanobe-yes they fixed the problem with chopping(the term for when the paintball breaks between the chamber and the very end of the barrel) but only if you have the right setup. And paintball markers(that's what they're really called, 'markers', not 'guns')have come a long way. A lot of markers these days can shoot 30 balls/second(bps) at an operating pressure of, as low as, 90psi, which means you save on air. Now comes the yelling part. What were you and your friend thinking when you were playing paintball without the right protective gear?? A face mask is literally the possibility between life and death. Those paintballs come flying out of the barrel at 300 feet/second(fps) or more. End yelling...
LisaMarie-yea I know Johnny's fills CO2 tanks and sells paintball stuff. I used to go there to get my tank filled to either fix a marker or shoot paintballs in my basement . But I can't do that anymore since I use compressed air and have to wait to go to a field to get my tank filled.
minnow fan-yea Tommy's has a nice field setup, especially they're field, but their reffing for tournaments is EXTREMELY bad and biased. Plus they are always striving for air or CO2 and their paint is crap. If you want to go to a really nice field, go to MN Pro Paintball, www.mnpropaintball.com or Zumbro Valley Paintball, not sure what the website is.
