Only bad part is you will probably never find the exact person posting. Most net connections are split via routers & switches. The company I work for probably has 1000 PC's on the net at any given time, to the outside world, they all have the same IP address. I am all for having fun around here & messing around but the rumor starting is a little over the line, you really shouldn't be messing with people's reputation by rumor spreading.

Yes, the person posting as Guest is doing it from a city computer. Take a look at some of the times he or she posts, middle of the day when they should be working.
The thing that really gets me though, is that we have an idiot like Guest working for us at the city.
Dont give the moderators to much credit here, at least not all of them. I have been trying to get the others to get rid of Guest for a long time. I was told just the other day that Guest had a right to come in here and post anything he likes. If he wats to just come in and call people names, thats his right.
I dont agree with that, I look at it as everyomne elses right to be able to come in here and post their opinion without being attacked by Guest. Everyone, name one person in this forum that if we could get rid of them today it would make this a better place to visit? My bet is Guest is at the top of the list.
We also let people post under Minnows name, unregistered. If its not registered, its not Minnow.
By the way, I was the moderator that deleted about a dozen of Guests posts a couple of weeks ago. They had nothing to do with anything on the forum, just calling people names. Understand that Guests paln all along was not to be a part of this forum, put to destroy it and ridecule it. The moderators, by our inaction for so long on this matter have let him get away with it.
One last thing, as a reward for me deleting this persons name calling and not allowing him to post unless he truely had something to say, I have had my deleting privaleges taken away by the top moderator.
Its time to stop letting Guests rights to post stand in the way of all others rights to have this forum be what it started out to be, a way for people to get the story and news they wont hear anywherte else in town. Guest has done his job well, this forum is becoming a joke, and the moderators are letting it happen.
If you want things to get better and change, tell all the moderators that some Guests have wore out their welcome amd will not be allowed to post again. The forum was a much better place the the days after I deleted Guests posts. Asatter of fact, he sat at his puter at city hall and as soon as I would delete it, he would post another cussing me out.
In closing, dont give any of the moderators credit for doing anything to solve this problem, its our fault for letting it go on this long.

I still didn't ban guest. If he/she wants to come in here and call me or you names then that's still their right. Just like it will soon be everyone in this counties right to go to a county board meeting and say whatever they want without fear of being banned from meetings.
And as far as me taking away the moderators ability to delete post I took away all moderators ability to delete posts because all but one of the mods called me and asked me to do it. Moderators all still have the ability to edit any post, they just can't delete entire threads or posts.
Hoosier, we all discussed what was to be deleted and what wasn't, the only thing the mods are here for is to remove obscene language we are not here to referee fights, pass judgement on others ideas or even defend other users from name calling idiots. If someone comes on the forum with the sole purpose of insulting the forum and its users then that's the price we have to pay for free speech and I personally don't see any difference between what guest does here and what Roger Bok does at meetings.
