Geo, I agree with you, but just because someone doesnt support the war, doesnt mean they arent behind the troops 100 %. If I critisize our government for being in Iraq, doesnt mean I am not patriotic, doesnt mean I am being un-American. Just means I dont think we should be there, thats all.

I'm still too busy checking on my domino's to be current on this war, but this war just didn't seem to pass the smell test. Now that we have blowen the place up I think we have an obligation to try and put the country back in some order. Unfortunately I think this administration has lost their best chance at that. You know, just like his father it is the vision thing our President seem to have trouble with. Maybe he should stop depending on all of dadies men to figure a way out of this mess.

There is no way out of this mess, we are in Germany, we are in Japan, we are in Korea, and we will be in Iraq 100 years from now, we are the victors there is a profit in being there, besides the oil, more cheap labor.

[quote] Amen Shaker, but Viet Nam times ten.
How do you come up with times ten?
If we are talking about human lives the numbers are 58000+ US troops dead vs. under 300.

ICU812, I assume you are asking me, I was the one that made that statement to Shaker. I was not talking about human lives, I was just suggesting that it will be ten times the mess. In my opinion. You are right though, no comparison in lives lost, yet, depends on how long we are there.

So was it respectful when I got spat on when I came home and was called a baby killer. Watch how we show none support, I don't agree with the Kent State Ohio thing. That was our Goverment at it's worst.

Geo, who said it was respectful that you got spit on and called a baby killer?
When that did happen to you Geo, In my opinion that is one of our countries lowest moments. We all should be ashamed at how our Vietnam vets got treated when they came home. I understand that they still recieve little or no respect for the job they done in that war. Sorry, police action, as our government liked to call it back then.

Geo, I remember much the same thing. God, I felt dirty. Couldn't wait for my hair to grow out so I could hide away. Those were tough times that no one will ever understand who didn't live it. Friends I had since I was a child wouldn't talk to me because I had been drafted and chose to do my duty. It changed my life, maybe more than the war had.

"Friends I had since I was a child wouldn't talk to me because I had been drafted and chose to do my duty."
----> That's because your real duty, your true duty was to the truth....to what was right. It wasn't following Nixon and Agnew over a cliff because your just a blind machine, incapable of being nothing more than a pawn...a puppet.
Understand now?
