LOL @ Minnow, sounds like Belden or Trow to me. Havent we been called the merry band by someone in the Tribune forum? Maybe McCheese? No wait, that was Belden. In my opinion, what it all boils down to is this, you have what seems like the same group, or class of people that have run things in town, or been political insiders in town for years, they have had their way because nobody like us thought you could change things. These same people, I suspect Positive is one of them, dont like it a dam bit that the peons have gotten together and are trying to see that things are done differently, by different people. They dont want everyone to have a voice, the only voice they care about is there own, and the local politicians that have let them kiss their ass for so many years. In other words, they see the days of doing things the way they like it, coming to an end with people getting involved. I see it as, you guys have had your chance now for how many years? Are we so much better off today than we were 25 years ago? Hell no we arent, shut up, get the hell out, and let someone else have a shot at it.

I would have to agree Hoosier, it does sound a lot like the two people you already mentioned. Wouldn't surprise me much either way. Just look at the pathetic attempt of Trow to stick his nose a little higher up the County Board's butt that was published in the Trib not too long ago.
The funny thing about all of this is that if one of them were to have taken the initiative and started something like we have, it would be the 'right' thing because they were involved with it, but since they are not, it is borderline blasphemy.
Can anyone say double standard way of living?

if that was trow that posted under positive he needs to shut up. i have heard him preach of doing good ever since he ran and lost for albert lea mayor. he says he cares so much about albert lea, but wont put his busines here in town. i met trow when he was going door to door during his campaign he comes off as a nice guy at first but when i started to hear him publicly reverse his stance on issues when he told me the exact opposite in private it really showed what he is a liar. something else that really makes me mad is that he always says how we have to take care of our enviroment but at his busines down in glenville he has a big army truck that constantly leaks gas onto the ground. i am surprised that the people in glenville allow him to keep it there. did i also mention that his busines is also less than a block from the river in glenville.

Nah, I don't think it's either Trow or Belden. For one, Trow would have probably posted a longer message (we know he's long on words)  and it didn't have that attack attitude that Belden has. Anyway, I think Belden's afraid to post.  I think it's just another person voicing their opinion. Everyone's not going to agree with everything we post on this board, and it's their right of opinion. Hey, guys, at least they posted.

Sick of it, you are right on the money about Trow, he has a different opinion on the issues for each group of people he talks to. You come away thinking that he agrees with you, only to find out, he agrees with everyone. Ole1, you did good also, Trow doesnt like it because he is not involved. He is afraid we might actually get some people in county government that wont allow him to kiss their ass. Trow is on the Think Tank, trying to change the city charter, take power away from the city manager. Why is it ok for him to be involved in that, but he critisizes us for trying too change county government.My advice to anyone out there, Tony Trow is, in my opinion, the most undesirable kind of person you would ever want to hold public office, a constant liar. He has no stance on any issue, its just depends on how his audiance feels. I was on the think tank before Trow was, the ex mayor was also, of course, Trow kissed his ass so much when he was in office, he invited him to come. Just a little news for the ex mayor, not one other person on that think tank liked the fact that you invited Trow. Anyway, we were looking at ways to change the city charter to take some power away from appointed officials, and give more to elected ones, like the mayor. I dont think Trow understood exactly what it was all about his first meeting. They asked us all what we all thought about the charter, of course, even though it was his first time at a meeting, Trow spoke up first. He said he didnt see anything in it that needed to change. After everyone looked around the room at each other, amazed at what they just heard, I spoke up and said it made me sick to see what was in the charter. Everyone pretty much agreed with me, that was why we were there, to try to change it. Next thing you know, Trow is practically there spokes person, he wanted to get rid of everything he had said at that first meeting was just fine. My god, he comes out for the courthouse project, but then why was he attending meetings held by the fairness committee? We need to get rid of people like Trow in local politics, stupid people like him in power are a dangerous combination, stupidity, power, world class ass kisser, liar, politician. In my opinion.

sorry, I wasn't trying to preach anything, just stating that I didn't think it was Trow or Belden, and that I wanted to encourage them to post and you know d#mn well I wasn't defending either Trow or Belden.

I have heard from several members of the Fairness Committe that there was a "mole" in their midst. They didn't name names for fear of violating the County's "gag order"--could they have been speaking about Trow?
