Right, pretty amazing how many people seem to be interested in what's going on.

LOL, we have been told that a ladies church group has the ladies with puters copy everything that was posted for the week, then they get together and talk about it. Its really bigger than you could imagine. Of course some of the powers that be will continue to downplay this forums importance, because you see, we are all the last people in the world the politicians want to get involved. The common, everyday working men and women. We all know the only way they have gotten the power they have is by being dishonest and not telling us the whole story. Not anymore, the people can come in here and get the whole story, unedited, no bull  crap, coming from people with nothing at stake in the process other than wanting to clean up the bad politicians and have a more responsive, representive of the majority government. Really makes me laugh when some politicians come in here saying, how do you know you are in the majority? Because for the most part the common man and woman have the same problems, to many taxes and not enough money at home, we think a like. Sorry, but a guy that has a fulltime job and then gets paid 30 some thousand dollars a year for a parttime job, has no idea what the common person wants or needs. We do, cause we are all pretty much in that same boat. You know, that same boat that is slowly sinking while the politicians stand up on high ground looking on, counting their special interest money. Sorry about going on and on, LOL. This forum is just what the doctor ordered, an informed public.

LMAO @ Minnow. Dont worry about it Minnow, I have had some people tell me that we should tone it down just a little. In my opinion most people dont want it toned down, they come here more than once they know exactly what they are getting. But they keep coming back, like Rosebudinal said, people like coming here because people dont pull any punches, they tell it like it is. No political correctness here. I like to think of it as Albert Leas "No Spin Zone" You come in here trying to spin, you are going to have dozens of people call you on it. Thats why to my knowledge, only three local politicians have had the guts to post in here, thats Dan Dorman(Repdan) and Minnow Brooks(6th ward councilor) and Dan Belshan. Although I dont always agree with the three of them, I do applaud them for trying to be more open by coming here and posting. I take that back, I almost always agree with Dan Belshan.  :D  You never would have seen Disgrace Schwab in here defending her stealing little ass. You will never see the four cowards on the county board either, they are afraid they might actually say something that they could be held accountable for. To me this is what this forum is all about, seeing that our politicians are held accountable, the Tribune wont do it, so the people have to do it themselves, thats fine also, although it would be nice to have just a little help from the local press.  I hope Fox News doesnt sue me for calling this the "No spin zone."   :D

Rosebudinal, I too have noticed a larger amount of "guests" viewing this board.  I just mentioned it to Jim on Saturday.  I would like to take this time to invite our guests to register, it's easy, and if you want to remain unknown, all you have to do is pick a name you want to use.

Hoser,
It's a good thing you married well.  While I try to add something to the debate, you don't seem to get the point.  If someone says "how do you know you are in the majority?"  It does not mean that he or she does not think that you are,  it means the wonder how you know it.  You remind me of a guy who came in my store about 12 times in the last year to tell me that he was against the hog plant.  Fine.  I was in favor of it.  (side note....I will still be surprised if it really gets built but that's way off topic).  The last time we talked about it, he claimed that the only people that were in favor of that were the politicans.  When I asked him how he knew this, he said because everyone he talked to was against it.  I then asked him if it was just possible that he was talking to the same group of people all the time?  In the case of the hog plant, I would say that it was somewhere between a 60-40 either way but I could not tell you that for sure.  But I did know that there was a large % of people in favor of the plant.  Perhaps you don't have more people who disagree with you talking to you is that you talk but don't listen.  For example, assuming anyone who ask's you how you know you are in the majority is twisted into something else.  I hope you do run next year, not sure where you live but I believe it to be in Mark Berhands distict?

Another example.  Someone took exception to my post that most of the county board will be hard to beat.  A current point was made that I was out on a limb since I did not know who was going to run.  OK, but then one could say the same about beating them.  However, like them  or not it tends to be hard to beat someone once they are in office.  Notice I said hard but it can be done.

You mentioned the Senator.  It took the Senate DFL caucus about $200,000 to get the seat back.  The Republican caucus spent maybe $20,000.  Do the math on the one per vote.  So I site the history of elections for saying it is going to be hard.

What is all the special interst money of which you speak?  Give some examples so we can all learn or maybe I'm just the only slow one here.  Dishonest elected officials.  You must have a strange meaning of dishonest.  From you posts, I can only assume that means someone who does not agree with you, or perhaps you could help me understand this too.

PS the job pays about $32,000.
