Repdan, Hoser? LMAO. My wife said surely he just misspelled Hoosier. She is also making me say that yes I did marry well.

You are probably right about the belief of thinking we are in the majority, I get your point, cant argue with it.

I also understand that I am guilty of talking about politicians in general, instead of making it clear who I am talking about, the state politicians or national. To tell you the truth, although I dont always agree with some of the things done at the state level, for the most part I think you and your collegues do a fine job. On a scale from 1 to 10 I would give you guys an 8. Grace lost me when she showed very bad judgement in getting involved with the letters mess. It looked to much like a state senator trying to squash speech that she didnt agree with. Didnt like the new governor at first, but liked his hard line on budget cuts instead of tax increases.

As far as special interest money goes, I really have no idea how much is involved at the state level, if any. My guess is that there has been some special interest money given to state politicians, logging money and mining money come to mind from the northern part of the state. In my opinion PAC money is special interest money. Am I wrong? In my opinion, any politician that takes special interest money is dirty. No matter how you slice it, it comes down to buying votes on future legislation, you cannot convince me that it doesnt influence votes, at the national level. Taken as a whole, I would give our Washington politicians a 2 out of 10.

Anyway, I agree I dont know how much special interest money is passed around at the state level, if any at all. But if we cant agree that it is a very big problem in Washington, then we do live in two intirely different worlds.

Anyway, hope that explains it a little better, you may not believe this but I actually think you do a better than average job, maybe a mid to low 7 out of 10. One last thing you have to understand, when it comes to politics and what I believe to be right or wrong, I can be an uncompramising ass  hole, just ask my wife, although I am sure she already told you that.

                                     Sincerly, Hoser!

What the heck is LMAO?

The big money in MN politics comes from the casinos and education minnesota.  From my view, you need to be careful from where you get your money.  I have taken some pac moneLiy, but only from groups I tend to support.  Here is a link that you can track me and others.

I suggest listening to your wife they tend to keep us out of trouble.

Repdan, LMAO means laugh my ass off, LOL, laugh out loud. Agree about the wives, full time job for mine. I can see the difference between taking money from people or groups you support, and just taking the money, then feeling like you owe them your support.

Many of you on this forum talk negativly about what happens around the area. This is lead by the leaders of the forum, the merry band of negative thinkers. Now when someone pulls up albertlea.com they can see a very small part of the area population talking about how bad the albert lea area is. Is this what you want to promote? Promote positive thinking for positive solutions.

positive, thank's for your comments.  Our "merry band" of thinkers each has their own points of view.  We agree on many issues, but disagree on others.  This board is here to get everyone views, and we each welcome yours.  Welcome aboard, but please register, it gives you more priviledges

Positive, Did you ever once consider that we talk about the negative things because we want things to be better? Not talking about it, or hiding it from people will not make it go away. Why not get it out in the open, do something about it, then have nothing but positive things to say. Besides, you are in an OPINION FORUM. Do you know what that means? Or is this Belden? Not much to talk about if everyone logs in and says, well, nothing to bitch about today, everything is just the way it should be, have a good day.  :D  People that think like you on this issue remind me of a couple in a really bad marriage, only none of their best friends know because the couple is more worried about how it will make them look, when they should be getting help to make it better. You see, in my opinion, people like you in this community are the ones responsible for the shape we are in, you are so worried about how negative things make the community look, that you never have the guts to admit and fix the problems. So yes, go ahead and post away, just dont think you will find many people here that will agree with your rose colored view of our town. I love it here, wouldnt live anywhere else, but I realize it has long way to go to be the town you want people to believe it is.

Many topics on this board (and other boards) are negative, however, if everything was peachy keen, there probably wouldn't be any need for discussion. I enjoy reading the forums whether they are positive or negative. It gives me a different perspective on many subjects. It also allows people to vent in a constructive way. Much better than destructive.

If this or any other board allowed only positive comments, Mayor Eaton would be the only one writing in. (Not ripping her, but she is always "pro" or "positive")

Good point Hanna. All I can say is, I know all the socalled merry band of negative thinkers, as I am one of them, but there isnt one of us that does not want the very best for Albert Lea and Freeborn County. But there is a lot of people out there like Positive, who would rather not hear anything negative, thinking that if they dont hear it, it must all be ok. Like I said, thats why this town has been stuck in the same rut for the past 25 years. And you know what? I would hope that people visiting this site or any other, would look at them and think, Wow, there is alot of people here that really care about making their town better. Then you look at someone like Positive, and think, this person just wants everyone to shut up so things can stay just the way they are now. I got news for you Positive, the merry band of negative thinkers have done more in the past year to try to make things better in this community than you probably have your intire life. So Positive, who ever you are,  :finger:       :D

I have to agree about Eaton, Hanna.  The woman drives around town with that smile on her face 24/7.  Does she not have an angry bone in her body.  I think it is great that someone can be that happy but come on!!!  She probably smiles in her sleep.
