I know of a lot of farmers over the years that have used this strategy. You can always tell when they're going to do it, they go out and buy a bunch of new machinery.

Bankruptcy is Bankruptcy in my book! Poor management whether farming or running casinos or personal makes no difference. The cost of wiping away all this debt usually is passed on to you, me and other consumers, Bankruptcy abusers hurt everyone.
I'm pretty sure the taxes he has personally produced over the years, as well as those of his corporations, have generated more income for the federal government paying aid to more federal programs than you could ever wrap your brain around. Not to mention all of the other people he has employed and who also pay taxes. I would even venture to say that he has donated more money to charity than you have ever paid, over your lifetime, in taxes.
Think of all of the jobs his corporations were able to preserve by using chapter 11 rather than 7. The legal system in this case seemed to have worked and did what it was intended to do. I'd say the ROI that the government has experienced since the chapter 11 filings has worked out pretty well for them.
If you knew anything about bankruptcy you would know that there are different levels and that not all bankruptcies are a result of poor management. There are plenty of external forces to be considered as well such as geopolitics, weather, bad employee, unions( ), etc.

As for bankruptcies, if this were a Democratic candidate who had habitually used bankruptcy you’d be screaming to high heaven about his poor management skills, you’d demand his imprisonment for corruption Bankruptcy in any form is more of a burden than a blessing, there are lot of banks in this counrty that have loaned people like Trump money, when he walks away through a Bankruptcy loophole, those depositors as well as the taxpayer are on the hook to keep that bank afloat. I’ve heard Trump blow his horn about having over 8 billion, not in material wealth but liquid assets. Yet he stiffs US for his mismanagement, what’s wrong with this picture!
