After watching Donald Trump's speech announcing his presidential run I'm hoping he gets the republican nomination even though he thinks you all suck, and you're stupid.
Posted by Self-Banished on Jun. 16 2015,11:25 am
^ well yeah, if you're a democrat

I listened to him, most likely just big talk but some good ideas that would probably never be brought to fruition.

On the bright side (at least for Expat) if the Donald were to get the Republican nomination Bernie Bullsh!t might have a chance :D

Bankruptcy is Bankruptcy in my book! Poor management whether farming or running casinos or personal makes no difference.
The cost of wiping away all this debt usually is passed on to you, me and other consumers, Bankruptcy abusers hurt everyone.

I'm pretty sure the taxes he has personally produced over the years, as well as those of his corporations, have generated more income for the federal government paying aid to more federal programs than you could ever wrap your brain around.  Not to mention all of the other people he has employed and who also pay taxes.  I would even venture to say that he has donated more money to charity than you have ever paid, over your lifetime, in taxes.

Think of all of the jobs his corporations were able to preserve by using chapter 11 rather than 7.  The legal system in this case seemed to have worked and did what it was intended to do.  I'd say the ROI that the government has experienced since the chapter 11 filings has worked out pretty well for them.

If you knew anything about bankruptcy you would know that there are different levels and that not all bankruptcies are a result of poor management.  There are plenty of external forces to be considered as well such as geopolitics, weather, bad employee, unions( :p ), etc.

@CC
Why am I not surprised at your defense of the Donald, you don’t really think this egotistical nut job would make a viable President do you?
As for bankruptcies, if this were a Democratic candidate who had habitually used bankruptcy you’d be screaming to high heaven about his poor management skills, you’d demand his imprisonment for corruption
Bankruptcy in any form is more of a burden than a blessing, there are lot of banks in this counrty that have loaned people like Trump money, when he walks away through a Bankruptcy loophole, those depositors as well as the taxpayer are on the hook to keep that bank afloat.
I’ve heard Trump blow his horn about having over 8 billion, not in material wealth but liquid assets. Yet he stiffs US for his mismanagement, what’s wrong with this picture!

Only someone who has no real Idea what’s it’s like to experience a hostile takeover of the Company you’ve gave blood sweat and tears to keep profitable, only to see that profitable company bled dry by a conglomerate that had no real interest in Wilson’s  Albert lea plant or the plants Illinois, Indiana, Iowa , Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Colorado and Oklahoma as well as it’s Pharmaceutical and Sporting Goods Divisions, it's just another piggy bank to be bled dry, I know all about Chapter 11 and exploiting the Working Class, but idiots like you keep voting for the same folks that rob and rape US all..

What a Joke the Republican Primary has turned into, it'd be funny if it wasn't such a sad reality!

I guess your pick for Carly Fiorino didn't make the cut.  I don't care for her, but it'd be nice to see the Repubs have a woman as a front-runner to show that they're willing to stop the "War on Women" that comes out in their policies.   :flame:  :;):

QUOTE
Get Your Free Tacos Tonight, Courtesy of Donald Trump

If you weren’t planning on watching the Republican debates tonight, perhaps this will convince you to reconsider. Food delivery startup < Eat24 > is launching a very special debate night promotion: every time Donald Trump says “Mexico,” you get a free taco.

That is, every time he says “Mexico,” Eat24 will post a $5 coupon code to Twitter, enough to cover the cost of a taco, or, you know, any other food item under $5. “We believe in freedom of the belly, so it’s totally up to you,” the company wrote in a blog post, which is essentially a backhanded jab at Trump’s now infamous comments about Mexican immigrants.

Democracy has never sounded so delicious.

I just got through reading the Star Tribune editorial that the A.L. Tribune published relating to comparisons between Trump and Teague.

I just kept thinking over and over. How has our pennings, verbalizations, our world, this time in history gotten so intertwined in manipulation? What have we taught and are teaching the next generations? What disservice have we done and are doing to these young people?

To print the ridiculousness of this article for all to see comparing an alleged sexual predator to stupid, often inappropriate things uttered by Trump is beyond the pale.

Our politics, and make no mistake this is all about politics and Trump, the writer found a timely handy story about an alleged predator and found it to be useful to manipulate the public.

Donald Trump is arrogant, and can be a boastful, condescending person, but Mr. Trump has found an aching, a need in our society today and he has yelled it from the roof tops. He has gotten where no politician has ever been before. He is speaking for the masses — the masses who are sick and tired of exactly what this Star Tribune writer attempts to do: manipulate.

These writers, these news organizations don’t get it. People want the simple truth. Not to be manipulated, not lied to. Just truth.

Whether you like, don’t care or hate Trump, he has found something no one before him ever has, < a VOICE for the silent majority. >
 Nice letter.  It speaks volumes.

But Trump's success with some comes with resounding negatives from others. That figure is even higher among Republican women, 37% of whom say they would never vote for Trump.

Found this in a blog from 2010.

QUOTE
Donald Trump's daughter, Ivanka, was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be very liberal, and among other liberal ideals she was very much in favor of higher taxes to support more government programs -- what her dad dismissed as "redistribution of wealth."

She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch conservative, and a rich one at that -- a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his, rather than benefit society.

One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the need for more government programs. "You don't need to spend money on these expensive furnishings in this huge house when there are people who need to earn more than minimum wage and better food!" she lectured.

To her shock and amazement, all The Donald said in reply was "Welcome to socialism."

That's it? she thought to herself -- no argument? But before she could even think of a follow-up, he actually changed the subject! "How are you doing with your studies?" Trump asked her.

Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew. She didn't even have time for a boyfriend, and didn't really have many college friends because she spent all her time studying.

Her father listened and then asked, "How is your friend Audrey doing?"

She replied, "Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so popular on campus; college for her is a blast. She's always invited to all the parties, and lots of times she doesn't even show up for classes because she's too hung over."

The Donald was closing in now. He asked Ivanka, "Why don't you go to the Dean's office and ask him to deduct a 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA."

Ivanka, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily fired back, "That's a crazy idea, how would that be fair!? I've worked really hard for my grades! I've invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my tail off!"

Then Donald slowly smiled, winked and said gently, "Welcome to capitalism."

Yeah, but Obama never had the bigot misogynist xenophobe vote, and yet he still won.

Tells you a lot about the  :dunce:  voter base doesn't it?

I thought the bigot misogynist xenophobe voters WERE the :dunce: voter base...

You sound like a Bob Reich sound bite.  I suppose you forgot about Ted and Slick Willy?

It's only one poll, but maybe tides are turning.  I don't mind.  Nothing a liberal hates more than a black conservative republican.

WASHINGTON — It was a debate remark so unusual that some people thought it a slip of the tongue, but on Wednesday, Donald Trump redoubled his claim that U.S. "wages are too high."

"We have to become competitive with the world," he said Wednesday in an interview on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" broadcast from St. Anselm College in New Hampshire.

"Our taxes are too high, our wages are too high, everything is too high," he said. "People are going to start firing people" because costs are excessive, he added.

Most presidential hopefuls this year, including all of the Democratic candidates and many of the Republicans, have argued the opposite — that stagnant wages for American workers are a central problem facing the economy.

Says the man that has self proclaimed net worth of 9 billion dollars! I wonder if he thinks he pays his pilot of the Trump Jet too much. Once again the arrogance of those with the money. "It's mine, I deserve it while the little people catch my crumbs," attitude.  :dunce:

I like that the Donald called Carson on his knife BS. Even if you stab a large hunting knife into a steel wall it won't break unless it's carbon content were so high that it would be unusably brittle. And WTF is up with taking after your mother with a hammer?

I grew up hearing about presidents and cherry trees, not presidents, hammers, and hunting knives.

So now I hear Trump pretty much comparing Carson to a child molester? Will he get away with that one?
