QUOTE Irish-- QUOTE You can't try to flip the lawyer thing into a bash the liberal issue, because it isn't. Many politicians, judges, or criminal/civil lawyers are conservative just as many civil attorneys for plaintiffs are liberal. Are you saying it is NOT true that the majority of lawyers are liberal? If so, how is it that the American Trial Lawyers Assn--bar associations, and individual firms contribute mainly to the Donks? Trial lawyers Association? Yes, people who sue the rich (corporations, drug companies, doctors) are less likely to be republicans. When the doctor leaves a sponge in a waitress or factory worker, and the person nearly dies, the person representing the victim of negligence is more likely to be a liberal, and the person representing the rich to deny paying for their mistakes are more likely to be conservative.
QUOTE Could it be that they can count on the Donks to provide more feel-good, anti-business, pro big government increased regulations?
That's overly simplistic. One side is bad, the other is good is typical Brietbart/FNC talking points. The republicans love government regulations when they are pro-business and pro-rich. When they push for higher ethanol standards, put in tax loopholes so the corporations don't have to pay taxes conservatives love it.
Conservatives love regulations, when it favors them and their friends in business. They just don't like it when it favors the middle class. The consumer of those businesses, the patient, the insurance customer, or the environment/wildlife.
QUOTE The lib attorneys have set a presidence for the legal system in our country and most of the other attorneys that claim to be conservative especially at the local level, in a primarily lib community, will walk in lock step to protect their own interest.
On the second page of this topic I started to wonder if you've ever admitted that you're wrong. You went from blaming the light sentence on the libbies. Now you realize he's a conservative judge but he's doing this because it's a vast liberal conspiracy on the local level?
Wouldn't it just be easier to say you made a knee-jerk reaction to blame the libbies instead of spinning this into something it's not?

OMG...Can't the majority of you on this "discussion" forum care about more than your hang up dedication with "politics" and your political party's agenda?
Why don't you CHOOSE to CARE about the "status quo" of citizens in your neighborhood, city, county, state, federal government who have SOMETHING MORE to tell you than...VOTE FOR ME and I PROMISE I will. give you "the taxpayer" this PROMISE because you're a conservative or a liberal???...

QUOTE Also in the past there was never an outlet like this to help in the cause for improvement. Or even for less serious matters as far as that goes.
It's too bad more people don't speak up. I agree. I have been reading some of the old stuff posted on this forum and I see that a few people here used to attend, or maybe still do, alot of council meetings, and researched ALOT on happenings in the county. The Tiger HIlls thing inparticular, way before most people had even heard anything about that project. I was shocked to see how gung-ho some of the people here are to help create a better community. I think though that sometimes people burn out when it doesn't seem that all their hard work accomplishes anything. I think more of us need to get involved in trying to help fix things. I honestly don't know how to go about doing anything. Some suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'll start going to council meetings, but beyond that I'm kind of clueless as to what I can do. I'll start going to council meetings, but beyond that I'm kind of clueless as to what I can do. That's a good start. Attend, watch, and listen. If something rings your bell or doesn't seem right, ask the right questions from the right people. Remember, they will all cover for each other and research, research, research.
