Amy Senser's Court Appearance Lasts About 1 Minute
Amy Senser made her first court appearance this afternoon. She was charged Thursday with criminal vehicular operation in the fatal hit-and-run crash involving a vehicle owned by her husband, former Minnesota Viking Joe Senser.
The Associated Press reports that Senser's appearance lasted less than a minute Friday in Hennepin County District Court. The judge asked her if she had read the charge, and she said she had. The judge set a pretrial hearing for Oct. 18.
Senser turned herself Thursday morning at State Patrol headquarters, and posted bail Thursday after two hours in jail. Earlier this month, she released a statement to the State Patrol admitting she was the driver in an incident that killed Anousone Phanthavong of Roseville the night of Aug. 23.
During a Thursday news conference headed by the Hennepin County Attorney's Office, the Phanthavong family’s civil attorney, Jim Schwebel, said the family is relieved that there have finally been criminal charges.
He also said that they will continue searching for answers as to what really happened that night.
“The Sensers have failed to cooperate with this investigation," Schwebel said. "We have no information as to whether this crime involved drugs or alcohol. We have no information as to why Amy Senser chose to flee the scene -- whether she was alone or with someone else that evening. We will continue an ongoing investigation until we know all the answers to these questions."
According to the criminal complaint, Phanthavong was found on the ramp to eastbound Highway 94 from Riverside Avenue around 11:10 p.m. that night. He was about 40 feet in front of a Honda Accord and had injuries on the right side of his body.
Troopers found multiple vehicle parts left behind by a Mercedes ML350, several of which had blood on them.
Around 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 24, Senser attorney Eric Nelson told the State Patrol that he was going to release the car involved in an accident the previous evening. There was damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle and a broken headlight and fog light. There was also blood on the front hood.
On Wednesday, the Medical Examiner's report ruled the hit-and-run as an accidental death. The examiner's office says Phanthavong died of multiple blunt force injuries that were consistent with an accident, and not intentional.
The victim's family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit, seeking at least $50,000 in damages against the Sensers.
Senser was a tight end for the Vikings in the 1980s. He owns Joe Senser's Restaurant and Sports Theater.

Where does it say anything related to drinking and driving? 
More likely she was finger fracking her stupid smart phone, and not paying attention to the road.
I cannot tell you how many times I have to honk at some moron, who is more involved with those goddamn phones instead of paying attention to the road, also been in quite a few close calls with idiots and their phones.
God I hate those stupid phones.

Bottom line. MN places less value on dead gooks than ex Vike wives. I hate it but it's your world. It's the one you wanted.
