I didn't want to start a new topic for this, but I had to ask this question.
In talking to a lot of people, the reason they voted Obama in for Pres. was because he promised to get our troops out of the war within 6 months. Now he is adding 30,000 plus to be sent over there and MAYBE, in 2011, we MAY start to bring them home (according to GMA this a.m.). What the devil is going on? Everyone was blaming Bush because he didn't bring the troops home and now Obama isn't either. I do not understand. (By the way, I did not vote for Obama).
I remember a promise to get us out of NAFTA and GATT as well.
The Obama zealots have no response for this.
-------------- Dear future generations: Please accept our apologies. We were rolling drunk on petroleum.
Obama didn't say that, he actually promised to send two more brigades to Afghanistan, and politifact says it was promise 134 and that the promise was kept.
QUOTE
Barack Obama Campaign Promise No. 134: Send two additional brigades to Afghanistan
Promise Kept
"As Obama removes our combat brigades from Iraq, he will send at least two additional brigades to Afghanistan, where the Taliban is resurgent. He will also provide our armed forces with the reset capability that they need. He will replace essential equipment, and he will ensure that our men and women in uniform get the care and support they have earned."

It's sort of funny that half the kooks like to say that Obama is incapable of being president so they say Rahm Immanuel is running the White House, the other half seems to think that Obama is running the whole show in Washington and should be blamed for anything and everything Congress or the Senate does.
Funny thing is that the local republitards always pointed their finger at Congress whenever someone blamed Bush for anything.
You kooks really need to get on the same page, he's either an idiot with no ability to run a business let alone a Country, or he's some sort of Svengali running the whole show in Washington.

The Nobel Peace Prize committee may soon be looking to redeem themselves after the error made in 2009. Decisively taking a potential chance at helping to save the Nobel Peace Prize from the disrepute that incurred by the hasty and ill-conceived decision to award U.S. President Barack Obama 2009 award and an unlikely gift to the EU last year, Norwegian Umeå University professor Stefan Svallfors wrote the committee that Edward Snowden should be the next nominee.
A Swedish sociology professor has nominated Edward Snowden for the Nobel Peace Prize, saying that awarding the former NSA employee would correct Nobel Committee’s mistake in giving the award to President Barack Obama in 2009.
According to a translation of the letter published by the Daily Mail and RT.com, Umeå University professor Stefan Svallfors wrote the committee that Snowden has made the world safer in releasing information about United States surveillance.
“Edward Snowden has - in a heroic effort at great personal cost - revealed the existence and extent of the surveillance, the U.S. government devotes electronic communications worldwide. By putting light on this monitoring program - conducted in contravention of national laws and international agreements - Edward Snowden has helped to make the world a little bit better and safer,” Svallfors wrote.
Referencing the Nuremberg trials of Nazis, Svallfors says following orders is not an excuse for acting against human rights and freedom, and he praised Snowden’s courage in leaking the information."
