Good, because cannabis is far less harmful than cigarettes. Cigarettes are the drugs that should be illegal. How is smoking pot any more dumb than smoking a cig or drinking a beer? The legal status for those under 18 is the same for all three, so don't give me the,"It's illegal nonsense.

MINNOW!

Remember what it was like back in the early 70's?  We kids were out in front of the high school smoking cigerettes and other stuff while drinking and snowballing cars that drove by.  The cops came and we snowballed them too.  One cop got on the bullhorn and threatened to call the riot squad.  Right :D   We just laughed and threw more snowballs at him    The 70's really was a good time to be a kid  :D

Remember, cigarettes and booze are good drugs. Matter of fact, they aren't drugs at all. Pot IS drugs.

Don't you remember what people thought back then?

Yes and now the cops own the school, if they don't like you they will take an A honor roll student and turn them into a delinquent. Including illeagel searchs, illegal in not reading that student their rights because they believe children under 18 have no rights. Damn shame when the IQ of the student is higher than the cop. I think the cops have no place in our schools I believe education can be provided by the schools still along with disipline without a court system invovled.

My grandma still complains about 20 years ago when she says some rotten kids that were smoking across from the highschool threw a snowball at her car one morning. She stopped her car right in the middle of the road (leaving it running) and went in to get a teacher to yell at them.  When they came out the kids had built a snowman on her front seat and turned the heater on high and locked all the doors.

The older she gets the more she complains about it and everytime she tells me the story I can't help but laugh.

LOL - oh geez, Liberal.  I'm sure that was incredibly non-funny for her, but that's a great story.  Moral of the story - if you're going to complain about high school behavior, go PARK and LOCK the car first.

As a teacher, Geo, man... that'd be my ideal.  I wish we could do this at my school and not have to have our liason officer.  However, it's becoming increasingly difficult to have teachers provide all appropriate discipline.  In my school, there are kids who can't be controlled by severe words and disciplinary consequences as meted out by the school.  I had to break up a fight once while subbing, and they called all 5 principals (yes, we have 5 principals - it's an enormous school, about 2000 kids), some burly support staff, and our liason officer out to handle the situation when the kids came back from lunch.  Our principals are intimidating, but having our officer there in case the fight broke out again was a great preventative measure.  Some of our kids wouldn't hesitate to sass a principal, but most of them recognize that they can't deal with an assault/battery charge and arrest at this point in their lives.
