How about social security. That was the still born brain child of liberal thinking.

Why hasn't "Liberal" radio been historically successful? Because most "Conservatives" are older and like to listen to the radio. Most "Liberals" are out actually doing something, like changing the world. And I have said I was a middle of the roader. Well, the more I read Jim Hansons posts the more inclined I am to view him as a radical. And no way shape or form do I want to be in agreement with that sort of nonsense.

Let me get this strait, liberal talk radio is a failure because liberals are so busy "changing the world". If they only spent more time listening to the radio instead of saving the rain forest, and demonizing SUV drivers, they might be successful in radio, is that what you expect us to believe? As for you refering to jimhanson as a "radical", and posting "nonsense", you'd have to give examples before I'd take that seriously. I've known a lot of democrats who thought that anyone who opposed socialism was a "right-wing radical", that name is thrown around so much by liberals, it has no credibility anymore.

Advocate, are you serious? My 20 yr old listens to Rush, I work so that I don't have alot of time to be listening to the radio (I am out doing something). Jim Hanson-radical LOL is like saying Mickey Mouse is violent. And, get over this one......I don't even drive an SUV!!!! Guess that some of your views of right-winged just got clipped.

In America today there is an erosion of the middle class due to free trade and globalization and sitting Republicans are currently pushing for expansion of NAFTA through the FTAA. Which in a nutshell will expand NAFTA's reach and it will allow markets to be open and loss of jobs to 3rd world countries and our good paying factory/manufacturing jobs are being exported as we speak. This does allow Americans to buy cheaper products at Walmart, it does little for those displaced workers and our economy in general, unless of course you are at the top of the heap.... a rich Republican. Ronald Reagan oversaw the largest deregulation process in our nations history. This resulted in the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. We have a society today where corporate greed is evident in corporation after corporation. And that is what affects each and every one of us. What Ted Kennedy or Clinton did in his personal life was not always a good thing, it may not have had the same affect on us as a society as do our economic policies. And yes, I am a product of the Welfare System myself. I have not done too bad though. Give most people a chance and they will rise to the occasion.

If you, or any other user has any proof to back up the claim of this happening in the Reagan years, I'd like to see it. I've heard this many times, but I've seen many UNBIASED charts contradicting this statement. Every chart or statistic from the Congressional Budget Office, and the Census Bureau that I've looked at has proved that the majority of people in every income bracket did better financially durring his Presidency. The results were much better than other administrations, yes, the rich became richer, but the poor & middle class also became more wealthy.

Amen advocate, radical, you hit the nail on the head with that one. You know, the thing that bothers me about Jims posts is this. As an independent, I would have to say that he was correct in the things he listed in a previous post, the one where he listed all the things liberals have done in the past that get laughs from the conservatives. My problem is this, while those were laughable, I think its sad that what the conservatives do when they are in office is anything but funny. Yes, Dukakis looked like an idiot in that tank, thank god he wasnt elected, but he hasnt directed that tank to go in and destroy homes in an occupied land. Clinton? Yes, he lied under oath, about a blow job! And he got impeached over it. The thing is, and people like Jim will never see it, is that neither party has the right to claim any kind of moral high ground. They are both guilty of doing the samethings, some people just arent smart enough to see it.
