"Local Boy Makes Good" (but doesn't acknowledge his roots) Al Franken signed a deal to host a show on the new (But mis-named) liberal talk network--"Central Air".
Quote
Officials say that Central Air's 14 to 18 hours of daily programming initially will be broadcast on stations they plan to buy in such major markets as New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia and Boston. No Twin Cities station has been targeted for purchase, but Central Air programming could find its way here through syndication.
Let's see--they couldn't find anybody that wants to BUY their product, so they're going to BUY STATIONS TO CARRY THE PROGRAM.  Sounds a lot like National Public Radio to me! :D

"Central Air"--but they are going to carry the programs in the big cities on the coasts--a thousand miles from any "red" states that really ARE in the center of the country! :D   More elitist posturing!

These guys see a need for more liberal media outlets--as though the conventional media outlets aren't enough (In 2000, 80% of the journalists surveyed voted for Gore), in addition to NPR, MPR, CNN, KATIE COURIC, TASS, the STAR-TRIBUNE, and PRAVDA! :D

Now that Franken is "Out there" (Outed?), like Howard Dean, he is fair game for public scrutiny.  There is already a web site exposing his missteps in his books http://www.frankenlies.com/

I'm looking forward to the new network--this should provide hours of fun--after all, can you imagine trying to defend some of the liberal programs like Midnight Basketball, full citizenship benefits for illegals, Canadian-style health care, etc?  These things are usually enacted within the halls of Congress, and won't stand up to open debate.  What's that you say, we won't take conservative callers?

Stick to attempts at humor, Al, you might make it there--IF you get some good ideas!  As I see it, instead of Franken not acknowledging Albert Lea--we won't be in a hurry to acknowledge him, either! :D

Franklen is an out of touch idiot.  Let's all be thankful he doesn't acknowledge his roots.  His radio show will last about as long as Gov. Turnbuckle's MSNBC show.   :p

Name one liberal talk show that has lasted. If we want to hear the liberal spin on any news of the day we just need to turn on the t.v. where Katie Couric is the queen.

I hope you guys are happy with Rush Limba. Yes you know, the drug abusing right wing Conservative. Oh yes I can hear you all now, “Oh but he has a problem, we have to help Rush”.  I’d rather listen to Franken any day!

Liberal Talk Radio has never made it because of FORMAT--"throw out an idea, and have people discuss it".  The liberals have run out of ideas--the ones they have been using have been discredited--"tax and spend"--"spend your way into prosperity"--"free trade (a Clinton initiative) WITHOUT reciprocity", "gut the military to pay for vote-buying social programs, then blame them for "losing" wars", 40 years of "war on poverty" (I've got news for them--Poverty won!) :D , "war on drugs" (same), "income redistribution" (Karl Marx would be proud!), and the most important one--"SOMEBODY ELSE WILL PAY FOR THESE PROGRAMS!".

Liberals don't have a viable program or idea left.  Exposing ideas to the electorate instead of doing deals in Congress reveals the programs for vote-buying pandering to "special interests" that they really are--and that's why liberal talk radio has never succeeded.

You can listen to Franken any time you want--the liberal media has him on all the time--all 3 networks, the Clinton News Network, The New York Times, the Red Star-Tribune--they've all covered him this last week.  In THE MIND OF THE MEDIA, THIS MUST BE NEWS--AL FRANKEN HAS AN IDEA! :D

Al knows his Spam!  Is civil when spoken to, unlike O'Riely's being "Fair and Ballanced?"  I'm glad the local boy has done good and that someone somewhere gets it.
