7.7 billion surplus, this isn’t a little excess, this is crippling tax policy. I was listening the other day and if tax payers (yes, the ones that actually pay taxes) were cut a refund check it would be in the neighborhood of $1800 a piece.

Think of the economic boost for this state :woohoo:

Where did all that extra money come from? Much of the projected surplus was thanks to higher-than expected tax revenues. Only $364 million, according to reporting from the Associated Press, was due to lower-than-expected state spending.

What? Gov't doesn't typically reduce spending? (insert shocked emoji here)

After we screw up health care reform, let's take on the initiative of unscrewing the education system (gov't education)

“The monster of Minnesota government keeps getting bigger and bigger at the expense of hardworking taxpayers,” said Rep. Steve Drazkowski. “We need to give all $7.7 billion back to the people immediately. Let’s be clear, the government did not create this surplus, the people did. After two of the most financially challenging years on record, we need to gut taxes for the citizens of Minnesota. No more wasteful spending, no more failing programs. Just give it back.”

This is just plain theft

Three years ago we were at 329 million surplus

Quit taxing the money we’ll get back from paying into this boondoggle.

Yeah with the prerequisite 2022 gouge just because, why not, we have a lot of options for excuses.

And what are you gonna do about it anyway?

So with that in mind the $500. . .  should be what?

$700-750?

But maybe it was formulated at a lower rate to not add to inflation as much :sarcasm:

^^ if they’re over taxing then change the policy, nothing is more simple. I see the Minneapolis teachers want a chunk of it now.

^ yes, overtaxing, we could thank the pedophile president but this is a state surplus, you’d know that if you were educated enough to read the topic title.

This is of the very essence of being an assclown  :dunce:
