We invaded Afghanistan in 2001 as part of Washington’s so-called war on terror. Trump is vague on any solution, just more troops more money more blood.
Anyone who's has a basic brain and has followed our failed policy can attest we've blundered into what's essentially a 7th century religious conflict Sunnis vs Shiites..
Saddam Hussein's Iraq was secular, but most, not all Government positions were held by Sunnis, Bush promptly disband this government and army. this is where our problems start with the rebellion. As for Afghanistan, Roughly 90% practice Sunni Islam, Saudi Arabia our supposed ally in the region funds the rebellion as the royal family is Sunni, the Government Religion Sunni and also prominent country religion...
Islam's split is that between the majority Sunnis and the minority Shiites.. I'm not sure what our long-term goal is here but the rally cry of the jihadists is to get the western invader out of their countries...
Is their anything over there worth sacrificing our children and national wealth...At 6 trillion and counting we could have bought the place 10 times over...
