I would have to say the Dem's have come out as anti union as well with their opposition to Keystone. Throwing away a lot of union jobs (construction workers, steel producers, and our fellow Minnesotans on da Range - iron miners).
Union jobs that add to the destruction of our environment have the same result as Chinese slave labor.
^^ your memory is about as short as you thought process. It wasn't that long ago that we were at $120 oil. The reason for the pipeline is national security.
Any little incident, any uprising and we're back to $100+ oil.
If that’s the case “National Security”as you suggest why did Republicans unanimously rejected an amendment introduced by Sen. Edward Markey (D-MA) and Sen Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) that would have required keeping the pipeline oil in the United States for domestic use??

Were you one of the people chanting "drill baby, drill" right before the Deepwater Horizon disaster turned the Gulf black? The XL phase isn't about our national interest anymore than the mess that BP and Halliburton left us with, once again it has more to do with the bottom-line of a foreign oil company who wants to gamble with our natural resources.
We're drilling our own wells on American land everyday in this country, and we didn't need an oil man like Bush or an XL phase pumping Canadian tar sands to do it. We're already a net exporter for the first time in over 50 years.
-------------- You know it's going to be a bad day when you cross thread the cap on the toothpaste.
Net exporter? Really? Better check your facts on that. We still import a huge amount of oil, and our exports are very limited per law.
"We're drilling our own wells on American land everyday..." Really? Better check your facts on that as well. Oil rig count has been going down for many months with the drop in oil.
Even though the tar sands oils are challangeing, I would rather we have first shot at them than CN shipping them to China. At least we have environmental controls in place here for their movement, refining, and use.
Awww, he's worried about me. I'm up fishing then I'll put the pontoon away for the winter and shut the cabin down. Warms my soul to think you worry about me.
