If you blame Obama on everything than your opinion won't be that valid on the subject. You're wrong about me not finding fault with him, his stance on many civil liberties has been just as bad as Bush's, sometimes worse. My main problem is the targeted killings, especially of a U.S. citizen. The drug war on both a federal and local level is unchanged, many states have legalized pot, but the use of civil asset forfeiture isn't going anywhere. People are having their homes, cars, and other property stolen regardless of conviction or adherence to the 4th and 5th Amendments. The Patriot Act is still there, only slightly changed, but domestic wiretapping without warrant is still there. That's my rant for now, and the Democrats certainly aren't helping with those things, at least the Democrats in power aren't. 
But back to the topic, I defend reform plans like this because they're built on compromise. Have you seen that film with George H.W. Bush that he did about his life? In talking about his time in Congress he said, "we weren't renegades or bomb throwers, we got things done." The likes of Reagan or George H.W. would never pass the muster of the current Republican party.

It's true that Reagan singed a law granting amensty to 3 million illeagals, but that was a bill passed by the then democratic controled house and senate(remember when the president could work with congress even when it was controlled by the other party, but I degress). The bill also contained provisions to strenghten border security and stop employment of illeagals thats one of the reasons that Reagan aggreed to sign it. It was to be the end of the issue. Unfortuatly congress progressifly gutted those security and employment measures (and it was BOTH parties that did the gutting) till we are where we are today. We are being invaded like a body gets invaded by the Ebola virus(a virus that causes you to bleed out). I lived down on the border so I know that until our government takes this problem seriously it won't get fixed. I always said we missed an oppertunaty when the two Germany's were reunited after the cold war, we could have gotten walls, fencing, land mines, sensors, and guard towers cheap! If we want to stop the flow of illeagals we need to secure our borders(security) and have monetary fines on busuness that really hurt, like millons of dollars instead of mere single digit thousands that can be brush off as the cost of doing business!(employment measures).

I think that since the border agents are union, they should go on strike for more pay. they are doing jobs that are not in the job description. Be a cold day in hell I start changing diapers for an illegal brat let them die in the desert. If they make it, send them back the same day!

One thing that really upsets me is that is not that difficult. Bring officials of Mexico to the border, hand them over. It is now their problem. The move of bringing them further inland is ridiculous. Out of sight, out of mind. Pretty soon they are just mingling with everyone else. Diseases and all.

^^^yep, that's your choice of president that's doing that. By doing nothing about it or even encouraging the law breaking thousands of children are endangered by this bullsh!t. Yep, Obama really cares about children.
