I am so far impressed with the balanced style of our new editor for our local paper.  Maybe she can even throw a hardball occasionally?  What is your impression so far?  Encouraged?  Discouraged?  Depressed?  Why?

I too have been impressed so far.  She's been thrown into an abyss that I'm sure she was unaware of.  She wants the news truthfully reported.  I spoke to her on the phone a couple of weeks ago.  She's going to be a strong advocate of the city and county being held accountable for their actions.  How long has it been that we had an editor that would stand up to the local government and print the story, not just what she's been given?  Soon we will have her knowing what actually goes on around here.  STAY TUNED!

Here's hoping that she has alot of backbone and can withstand the wrath of "our city/county leaders" or as they as often referred to in this forum"the powers that be".Guess that maybe we should encourage her with the praise that she deserves every time that she writes something that we know hasn't first been scanned by the above titles. Funny as this sounds I wish that we could shield her from them. We don't want a repeat of what happened to Geo in his place of business awhile back.

She has printed everything my group has printed so far without editing, I was called by Commisioner Bhrends yesterday with the printing of my last letter (published yesterday) and I am sure they called the Tribune to get my number. The Commisioner was unaware there is a group in the mall gathering signitures to strip away your property rights, every weekend as well as every other populas in Minnesota, as the Smoke Free Colition intends to put this as a statewide referendumn. Thank you, for your Call Mr Brhends I hope I eased your mind, but I will continue to be vocal and the letters will continue. I am at war against those that want strip away my rights, I damn near died defending in Quang Tri in 1972.
Wanna see my scare from the 7.62 I took in the lung. Just stop by.

When she first came to town, she wrote an editorial asking for input to the paper, and for news tips.  That was a good sign.  I took her at her word, and forwarded some of the wisdom of those posting on this Forum to her, and asked her to read the Forum to follow items of interest in the community.  She responded, saying that some of the Forum posters were off-putting (this was about the time when we had an invasion of "guest-pests"), but that she enjoyed those posters who "fought fair".  I advised her to NOT become involved, as Dylan did, but rather, to use the Forum as a barometer of what the community was thinking.

It's nice to know that she takes the time to check on the Forum--(Hello, Deb! :D ) unlike other "civic leaders" who say they never read it, when we know that in fact they do!

When they reported the story about a meth raid as a joke about the guys pot quality, I stopped reading.

Then again I don't read high school newspapers either. My time is limited.

I suppose with your 3rd grade education, reading at the high school level would be a waste of your time.
