Money skills aren't taught in school. It must be learned at home or on your own.
Teachers... teaching money skills? LOL All they can do is beg for another referendum.
Most people blow all the money they'll ever need for retiement from 20-30. Just a little savings during that period will pay off like mad in 35 years. Hardly anyone will do it though.
I hope to make at $500,000 a year in under 5 years time. I've come a long way baby...

How true Minnow. The earlier you start saving for retirement the more it multiplies. And setting goals for yourself also works wonders. I have a couple of boys in business for themselves too and they are doing just what you suggested, and they started in their early 20's. By setting goals they have been able to increase the size of thier businesses and are doing every bit as well as you are. The oldest is now 30....I guess he started before you though. Wise investing and smart business sense coupled with common sense can get you a long way. My youngest is not in business for himself, but he has been puttng money in an IRA and 401K since he was 18. So for once we actually agree on something.
-------------- A conclusion is simply the place where you got tired of thinking.

The only difference is, Mamma, that you're probably telling the truth. While Minnow, on the other hand, is sitting in his mom's basement thinking up new Dungeons and Dragons characters. People who talk about how much money they make don't make as much money as they want you to believe.

I agree Lisa and that's been my experience as well.
But these are the internet days. I would NEVER say this stuff in person or to anyone but a few close people. The internet is a whole different ball game. There's a certain degree of anonymity the net provides that make it unlike anything we've experinced to date.
In realty, the compensation I currently enjoy came at a very high price. I don't know if it was really worth it. I can't go back and play it out differently to compare at this point.
It took me decades to come to terms with my mental illness. Cannabis has saved my life in this regard, but do to the fact that I sucked down cigarettes for 17 years my lungs really can't take anymore abuse so I'm gonna have to learn to fly solo now. I credit cannabis with saving me from cigarettes, alcohol and OCD. I'm an alcoholic....no drink for 10 years now.

I just happened to be looking in this old thread. Finally, minnow's story starts to unravel.
I'm happy for you that you haven't had a drink in 10 years. But how, in any way could marijuana help a person with O.C.D.?
