BTW, just futher proof that you don't even have a clue as to what you speak.

For instance you assume the teens involved are a certain age because the school happened to be a middle school.

Your assumptions are false. Again you prove you ignorance...the kids could be 10. The 20 year mandatory minimum sentencing goes into effect when within 1000 feet of ANY school or PARK.

Didn't you undergo psychological testing prior to becoming a LEO (law enforcement officer). Something went wrong, when someone like you gets to slip through the system. You were supposed to be weeded out. I know, as I helped create the tests 20 years ago...

We all make decisions in life. we weigh the consequences of what our choices are, and then we make them. Whether or not one agrees with the laws regarding these type of offenses, if they have a brain they weigh the odds. This person made her choice, are we to feel sorry for her because she was caught?

BS, you're never going to convince me that a 20 year sentence for something as benign and harmless as cannabis is somehow justified. How in the world can you expect everyone to know every nuance, every archaic and unfair law on the books. YOU didn't even know for God's sake! Like I said the Iowa supreme court has already declared the 1000 feet rule unconstitutional. Do you even understand the relevance of that statement and how it may apply to this case? No, we all aren't attorneys and even they don't know all the laws. These things are evolving all the time and it's imposible for any one person to keep up. Like I said, YOU didn't have a clue and still can't figure it out. You know, no one remembers the idiots who who said during prohibition, well, they should have known the intricate details of the law. LOL I swear, this is why I deeply hate the people of this area and have great contempt for the white trash who stayed here and didn't move on. You are s deeply sick and disturbed person to even fantasize about 20 year terms for this kind of stuff. In my view you deserve death for your heartlessness, especially since you were probably buying smokes for your parents as a child.

The sheer nerve of your hatred is disturbing. It's cannabis for god's sake, not satans salad.

YeR sick!

Fletcher.  I am sorry that you hate.  That is sad. No matter how much you rabble for the decay of society; I do not hate you.  To use one of your extensions, it just shows the truely insidious nature of your being, that which you try so hard to sell as reason.  Your father can't hurt you anymore, let go of the pain.

Read the words of your post; you posted the information that the alleged violation occurred within a certain distance of a MIDDLE SCHOOL.  I stated that I was angry about that and naturally inferred, as did the Iowa legislature, that the violation was too close to a school that very young people attend.

If you can't even see the value of enhanced penalties for crimes that occur too close to our children, than I can only say that I am glad you are just a mentally ill fantisist and not in a position to actually have any real affect.

Enhanced penalties?   ???

In your view, what are just and fair "enhanced penalties" for the adult who provides a pack of smokes or beer to a teenager?

I say fry the low life and let her be an example to the rest of the world!   How dare she sell "ILLEGAL" drugs, or any drugs for that matter, to our children?! Maybe other drug dealers will take notice and stay away. Our children of this world need all the protection they can get from the monsters of this world.

Monster? LOLOLOLOLOLOL  :D  :D

On the contrary...in reality, is it YOU who is then real monster, and the civilized world agrees. Don't fool yourself...LOL   Around here in bumfunk USA, you may feel you're in the majority. But your just a drop of spit in the ocean and are definatly in the minority by a long shot. Iowa's law is only one of a few on the books and is NOT the norm.

Monsters? LOL Give me a break.

Why can't you even debate this issue then. For instance you absoluty cannot debate this issue because you refuse to answer even basic logic. Let me try one final time for real debate...

Recent Minnesota laws should make any adult think twice about providing alcohol to minors -- they can be charged with a gross misdemeanor, and go to jail for up to one year and be fined up to $3,000.  In addition, any adult who provides alcohol to an underage drinker can be sued for any damages that result.

Never Provide Alcohol to Teens -- It's Illegal, Unsafe, and It Can Cost You!

I believe this to be on the low side to being fair. Giving or selling any kind of drug to children is appalling and against the law.

Now, about your insults or your perseption of me because I believe adults should be held accountable for dealing drugs to children ... all I can say to you is that you have ISSUES.

In Europe it's not appalling. What makes you feel you're right and over 100 million Europeans are wrong?

"they can be charged with a gross misdemeanor, and go to jail for up to one year and be fined up to $3,000. "

These are MAXIMUMS and not mandatory minimum sentencing. Meaning one year will mean much less than that. 20 year mandatory minimum means 20 years...no early parole. Understand. Are you cognizant of the vast different in punishments between say 6 months MAXIMUM, and 240 months.

Let me make it easy for you....6----->240

Now add to that, that after Papillion is removed from his prison cell, he is a broken man, a convicted felon who we'll support for the rest of his life through Social Security.

So let's sum up...Is it your contention that the numbers 6 and 240 are about equal?

1. Please state in months the jail time you feel is fair and just for an adult supplying a teen:

A. Cannabis----

B. Cigarettes---

C. Beer--------
