I have to agree with Minnow on one point (gasp!) - they don't stink. I've heard people complain about them over and over but I have never once smelled one. They do, however, die. I just found a dead one clinging to a pair of pants I had left on the floor that I just wore a few days ago. And there are always carcasses in my window sills and near my baseboards. I don't poison, and I live in an apartment on the third floor so even if my landlords had sprayed poison around the foundation of the building it wouldn't affect the ones climbing in my windows. I don't recall ever being bitten, either. I like the little buggers, even when they crawl in my bed at night Much better than finding a spider between your sheets.

Here's an experiment to see if they stink. Vacuum up about a hundred of the little suckers and then let the vacuum sit overnight. I guarantee you will smell it when you turn on the vacuum the next day. Maybe they don't bite....but they do nibble on you. I believe they officially stated that they "taste you".

Minnow.......WOW. You are ahhh something else.
They don't die? What are they immortal. NOOOOOOO. They are nature. They will die. I step on them and their parts come out making them stop living. That's dead.
Oh, BTW you call them Lady Bugs. Perhaps Lady Bugs don't stink but, the freak'n Japanese Pumkin(?) Beetle STINKS. Pick one up rub it around on your finger tips (not killing it or damaging it at all) Let it go and smell your fingers. PEW!!!!!!!
They are not nature here. They are an imported alien to this continent. Simply importing an organism to deal with another is foolish...never play God. Look at the damage the purple loosestrife has done out west. Yeah, minnow, I would rather keep researching other means of pest control in our nations fields. See, that way I wouldn't have to spray my damn house with chemicals. My house is where my kids play. Do you have kids?
Lisa what?
Bugs crawling in your bed? TMI for real. At least if the spider is native to this area you have little to be afraid of. I'm not saying Jap Beetles are man eaters but, they are gross. Come on crawling on you? blah

Nasty girl. Like beetles crawling on you? Yuck, they are SkankyBugs, not Ladybugs. I like Ladybugs, I hate Skankybugs. They definitely smell, and anyone that cannot smell them in their homes, have homes that must cover the smell with other odors. I can't think of any other explanation.

I agree they definately smell when you vaccuum them up. And I also agree that they do indeed bite. They are nasty!

Now settle down boys, it's not like I invite them into my bed. I'll get under the covers and feel something crawling around my feet and start freaking out thinking it's a spider, but then I look and it's just a ladybug (or skankybug if you prefer). Spiders creep me out but ladybugs don't bother me.

The bugs we are talking about are not "ladybugs". "Ladybugs" don't bite and they don't stink and they don't ivade homes. The bugs we are referring to are Japanese beetles or something like that, but they are definately NOT ladybugs.
