HUH - Not at all. Never have and never will. My heart and symphathy used to really go out to women who have been abused. Indeed, I have gone beyond the call... I still feel they need some help when and if they really want to get away from the guy, but as I get older I have less sympathy for those that get what they ask for. There are thousands of lonely guys out there who wouldn't hurt a fly.

The correct answer: Minnow is right that short term incremental costs of prosecuting that particular case would have been limited - mostly to a couple thousand or so for paying a court reporter and ordering the transcript, publishing notices, etc. However, over the long term all costs are variable such that prosecuting less cases would result in less prosecuters, less overhead, maybe even less need for new jails and courthouses

Actually, I went to school with the victim and while she is far from what I would ever consider a friend, and she has been in numerous relationships, most if not all of them abusive, she herself has an alcohol problem, studies show that many women who have traveled this road are somehow attracted to men of this nature. It has been a cycle that unfortunately for her has not been broken any more than it was for his abusiveness. That being said, I wouldn't have wished this on her, or any one and hope that she gets counseling to break this cycle for herself and her children.

She knowingly lied to help a murderer...that abuses all of us.
She deserves jail time for lying.

What do you mean that she lied? The woman was beaten severely. Murderer? I think you have your stories mixed up. And what I posted last night appeared in todays paper. I spoke with an officer who said he thought the paper went into her character a bit much, good thing there won't be a jury for him, however the stepson will possibly going to trial and I think he should be harshly punished before he gets this pattern down and hurts others in this way throughout his lifetime

What's with this "Christenson Memorial Fund" they were talking about in his obit? What the hell could they be asking for money for, his stepson's defense?! Like hell I'd ever give money to THAT man!
