Let's be clear: There is not now, nor has there ever been, a "War on Drugs." What there is is a cynical program of political duplicity; the intent of which is not to prevent drug abuse (which it encourages), but to create a climate of distrust, fear, hostility, alienation, divisiveness, and violence within our society. The so called "War on Drugs" is in reality a war of cultural prejudice waged primarily against the young, the poor, the non-white and the socially disaffected to the advantage of the Elected, the Corporate, the Privileged and the Few.

Get a clue GEO, it isn't money being spent, it is money being WASTED. Legalize weed & tax it, use the tax for drug treatment for those who want it & for anti-drug programs to combat meth. For those who don't want treatment, leave them alone. Last I checked it is a free country but with your type of thinking it won't be for much longer. What I do in the privacy of my own house alone is none of yours or the goverments damn business. What gives the gov't the right to decide what drugs they think should be legal (alcohol, tobacco) and what type of gambling (lottery) is OK? You havn't won the drug war & you have no signs of even putting a dent in it, when is enough enough? You and the politicians are so stubborn it is laughable. Keep flushing the money down the toliet and telling Joe Taxpayer it is in his best interest. You and your ideas are a joke.

nah---not worth the hassle, I'll just keep smoking, toking & vaporizing.
I will never understand though how it is legal for me to buy a carton of cigs & a liter of Jack & smoke & drink myself until I am unconscous but it is illegal for me to buy a joint and smoke it in my home. Also, why can't I run a few gambling boards in my home with some friends? No, that is illegal but I can spend $1000 on powerball tickets. Or better yet, go give my money to some stupid Indian on his res. No thanks, I am much smarter then that.

Not only that...but while you are toking a fatty at home, chilling out on some spleafage some cops could bust in, find that skanks 3 grams of meth she left in her purse at your house and the paper would only print about your pot smokin'!

well, only as reported in the Albut Pee Tribune, what a rag of a paper. Anyone who pays money to read that rag is a sucker. Calling the Trib a small town trash rag is a complimant, it isn't even that good.

Hrmmm it's not a big deal to spend over 20 billion a year just on the war on pot. Not to mention 700,000 plus arrests and incarceration each year.
No sir...it IS a big deal when your fellow country men are being jailed and you don't even care!
