How does being realistic equate with being a chicken?  Look at the last council minutes they have already set up a nominating committee for the board. Does anyone really believe this isn't a done deal?

As far as me not speaking at the meeting last night there was no point. My biggest complaint is with the fact that the ALEDC will not answer to the people.  And the ALEDC's whole point is to get away from answering to the people.  So, where do you think we are going to find common ground on that issue?

BigTalker, How do you figure I'm not voicing my concerns?  Does my letter to the editor in yestersdays paper not count as voicing my concerns?

Well Big Talker that's because they make you use your real name in the letters to the editor. But, I think the most of the regulars on this board knows that my real name is Chad Hayson and that I own this site.  Would an unregistered troll like yourself feel more comfortable if I used my real name when I post?

Typical Albert Lea. Accuse others of having wet shoes while they themselves are standing in water.

Typical AL.

I'm jumping into this a little late as have been busy today, but I have to agree with Liberal on this, and don't tell me we're together on everything because we're not.

Liberal is much like others that post on here regularly, all talk.  when they actually have a chance to voice their concern they don't.

We have both seen people speak out at public meetings and unless you're Mr. Bigshot, you don't have a chance in he11 of changingg things.  Of course, even if you are Mr. Big, you probably still won't have any effect.
Liberal, that was a fine letter yesterday, and you hit the nail on the head.
Give this new ALEDC a chance, all that is, is Paul and Pam teaming up on the same team instead of the two teams working together.  It's been done for years, with nothing to show for it.  Pam's had other job offer to go to other towns, BULL$HIT, you're not going to convince me that she would not be williing to go elsewhere when she can't convince her OWN HUSBAND TO STAY!

I think that if you have strong opinions (as far as I can see most of you do), and truly believe in your opinions and want change you should speak at these meetings so that those present including the elected officials hear you and know what your opinion is.  Then you can truly say that you voiced your concerns in public to the public.  If you are going on the assumption that they will read it here or in the Tribune, there no second guessing that they know what your opinion is if you voice it at the meeting.

Your rite just looking, I wish that more of these people would attend meetings and speak out, many of us who post here DO attend meetings and DO speak to our elected officials, We have to realize that some people have just got (what should I call It--) Stagefright? they are very ill at ease to speak to a large group, but never the less it does not make there opinions any less valid, Most are just trying to make there point here, and I for one welcome them :D
