Albert Lea will never go for gaming. Mason City said no 2 to 1.

Northwood says yes 2 to 1. Very good chance of casino in Northwood and housing and property is a steal right now.

Should I buy in now before prices go up?

Yes, Minnow, buy in now. Buy yourself some rental property, a few houses and get some land outside of the town so you will be able to slap up a motel to house all the gamblers coming in. Do it now, and  you will be ahead of the game and make a bundle. Once the casino is built the prices are going to go sky high....do it NOW

Just think of how many people from AL, Rochester, Austin and Mason City will go. I know I would if one were so close by.
I certainly wouldn't mind sitting down for some blackjack at a full table once in awhile. It'd be a good place to meet people from the area in a fun and relaxed environment.

The city can and should, form a corporation that can be community owned (selling of stock) that will run and operate the casino.

I wasn't kidding when I said it would be a good idea to buy up some land. Somewhere near the casino site would be the best. Think of the boost to the economy when this thing gets going. There will be the people building it that will need housing, and once it gets up and running, there are a host of people that will be employed there. There will be security people, food service, dealers, electricians, parking attendants, hotel and casino personnel, and of course a crew of janitorial workers just to name a few. I think it will become a destination for people from quite a ways away. I know I had never even heard of Morton before they had a casino.Too bad Albert Lea will never have a casino...they have the perfect place for one.

Trouble is...once the location is known...or even if it's for sure it's coming, it's too late for the best buying opportunities.

But, check this link. This duplex seems like a bargain that would double in value...

Want to dismantle this bar and put it in my new house...check it...

That's the beauty of a casino......you just need a motel on a highway that brings the people in. I would think 105 would be a good place, since it would be the mainline from the interstate. There are usually shuttles to run the people back and forth to the casino anyway. The duplex on main wouldn't be a bad buy and the rent would not have to be much more than 5% of the purchase price.

Albert Lea will never have a casino until the State Laws are changed.  Currently only Native Americans can have casinos.  I don't seem to see a large population of them here.  Get your head out of your hind end minnow.

Minnow started off by saying that Albert Lea would never go for it.  Also, some of our so called City Council think there will be a casino at the old framland site.  Read and think, don't just read and type.
