I remember when this happened and my first thought was that it was a murder and he deserves life in prison just like if the roles were reversed. It's sad it didn't work out that way, this guy will likely be released someday.

I guess personally if that was my family member that he killed I'd prefer a shorter sentence just so I could get my hands on him sooner.
