I don't want to turn this into a right left hate fest..
Depending on the survey only something like 32 to 38 percent of American's own guns...I think that makes us a minority that could be out voted on the issue.
It'll take someone with a lot more between the ears than me to solve this problem...but we have to admit we have a problem.
What's changed in our Country, why kill elementary school children?
-------------- History is no more than the lies agreed upon by the victors.
^^ what changed? Our media, the “if it bleeds it leads” mentality, this also encourages the nut jobs looking for attention, mummy&dada didn’t luv me enough.💩
Out vote? maybe, but SCOTUS has been on a tear lately striking down unconstitutional laws and considering their current makeup, this will continue.
So if the Anita gunner, anti American peds want to change things, get 2/3 of congress then 38 states legislatures to ratify changes to the 2nd amendment only the will it be changed,
How about just enforcing the laws already on the books.
^^Here's the problem as I see it...the Republicans are trying to deregulate, lessen laws on guns, to the ridiculous point of a pistol in every pocket with no regulation whatsoever, not all but most.. The Democrats are going the other way, many of them to the point of banning Military AR AK type weapons..
They had a ban in 1994 so don't count on the Supreme Court to stop a ban.. Particularly if this becomes a ballot question, most Americans favor background check enhancement, (88 percent) ban on AR AK style weapons (67 percent )

We both know background checks don't apply to every purchase only FFLs..
There's a hodgepodge of laws, every State has it's own laws, some almost nonexistent..
Most of these shooters purchased their guns legally under existing laws, which means the current laws are inadequate.
We have to weed out the crazies or they will ruin gun ownership for US all...
I don't want some crazy gunning down my Grand-kids I'm sure you don't either..

There is already an enhanced bgc that was passed a couple of years ago, it's called FixNICS. NICS is a failure always has been, always will be, it's nothing more than security theater to keep the masses happy. If a person hasn't been adjudicated it WILL NOT show up on a bgc.
The 94 AWB that was part of the crime bill, was a dud and didn't have any effect on any crimes that involved so called "assault weapons" as a majority of crimes involving firearms are handguns.
As to the issue of the supreme court and the 94 AWB, that current supreme court refused to hear challenges on it and kept kicking back to the lower courts. Basically the votes weren't there to either affirm or strike down said unconstitutional law.
As to the 88% poll number on ubgc, yeah its bunk, polling was done mostly in areas that already have strict firearm laws, actual polling is less than 50%. The scamdemic and the summer of love really drove a wooden stake through the heart in the majority of favorable gun control ideas, same issue with the 67% on a ban on modern sporting rifles, it's less than 20%, the other issue is that AR and AK platform rifles are "common in use" firearms.
Events such as the buffalo and uvalde are less than 1% of the total 8% of violent crimes that involve firearms, with 400million(circa) firearms in circulation if there was a problem it would be very noticeable.
All of this pointing of fingers to either the enumerated right to keep and bear arms, the evil nra, mental illness, etc., is nothing more than misdirection and going for the low hanging fruit and taking the lazy route to fix a complex issue. Something has gone rotten in America in not only morally but attitude wise and administratively at both the state and federal as well.
