(ABC 6 NEWS) -- A Minnesota-based insurance company could soon lose its license, and we've learned that company is right here in our area.
The Minnesota Department of Commerce has charged the Austin-based Minnesota Surety and Trust Company with altering files before an audit.
The company has locations in five other states including Colorado, where this incident stems from.
According to the release, the insurance company allegedly made at least 4,000 false entries in books, reports and statements before they were audited by a Colorado insurance division.
The Minn. Department of Commerce says the lengths to which executives at the company went to cover their tracks are shocking.
We've learned the company can no longer operate out of its Colorado location. They were fined $1.2 million earlier this year.
ABC 6 News tried contacting the company. They denied to make a comment at this time
You get busted for pot, face years behind bars, call these guys to post your bond and THEY screw you, the police steal from you, the welfare mom wants to live your house for free and the thief robs you. Great.
Sisneros said that was when the company provided a portion of the requested documents in disarray, with some thrown in a duffel bag.
“It is the first time that has occurred during a market conduct exam,” Sisneros said of the duffel bag. “We couldn't even identify where to go to get the information we needed.”
Oh Gawd I find this funny. Peter throws a duffel bag full of papers at him and in effect says, "You want the damn records so bad you sort em out!" Peter Plunkett just said funk it!
What an arrogant turd this Peter Pumpkin eater be. Seems like all because he didn't want to pay a translator and then lied and covered up. He's says all them Mexicans speak English anyway!
If his Teflon is getting flaky, what could be better. The old man and the kids are real special works and it would be good to see them get what is just for some of their misdeeds. I guess the true test will be when the real s--t hits the fan, what will stick and what doesn't. Their trust business is a sham. What they did with the money from the Cowboy Priest from Owattona should have landed them all in jail, but all that happened was the had to pay back some ill gotten money and they lost their trusteeship of the estate. As I said it is not the first time this group has been looked at for abuses but they are still around bottom feeding.
Also the Plunketts employed the ex-drunk prosecutor, I forgot his name. He's a total basket case. Can't imagining him working anywhere else. I'd stay clear of all these freaks. The message should be clear to everyone, yet some old man will ignore his kids and give up all his money and land in probate to guys like this.
