One time, I was  atop a 25 ft ladder putting up a display and this little old lady starts bumping into it intentionally with her cart to get my attention....oh yeah, it worked I was shaking by the time I climbed down. Other customers noticing it started to gather around as did a manager. I managed to ask her what the problem was and she nonchalantly replied that she didn't like the smell of the popcorn nearby. At that point, the store manager escorted her away from me and the nearby customers applauded him for doing so. Needless to say I took an unscheduled break. PEOPLE ARE NUTS!!!!

LOL - agreed, Rosebud.  Sounds like your manager had a tactful solution for this wacked-out customer, and I'm glad you were able to keep your cool in spite of her incredibly asinine behavior.

Hrm.  More customer stories... well, an employer story will have to do right now.  I worked in the campus dining hall in the res hall where I used to live - it was a grand six-week engagement.   :p  So one day, we're getting ready to open for our carry-out pizza service, and I'm folding boxes.  I fold about 15 boxes and suddenly notice that everyone's gone from the work area.  And no one's in the lobby.  So I keep folding boxes.  About 5 minutes later, the dining hall manager comes running out and yells, "Why didn't you come back in the back room??"  "Well... I'm supposed to work until 4:45... and it's only 4:30 right now.  The shift manager asked me to fold boxes, so I came out here where the boxes are."  "Argh!  Get downstairs, NOW - there's been a tornado warning going on for 5 minutes already!"  With all of the machine fans going in the serving area, I hadn't heard the sirens or the alarm system going on.  I felt ever so safe in there from then on...
