Today a new internet customer wants internet

1. Doesn't want to reveil their address

(Ok were do I Bill you?)

2. Doesn't want me to know her password

(You Have to have a password and I have to enter it into the system)

3. Doesn't want me to know their email address.

(Again I have to enter this into the system.)

4. Doesn't want me to have their Phone Number

(Ok I may need to contact you)

She decided she didn't want my service and thought we were rude in asking this information.

Geez, Geo.  Well... look at it this way... at least you won't have to provide tech support to this person!  Just imagine...

"My Internet's running slow."
"Okay, ma'am, what are your system settings?"
"What do you mean?"
"Well... what speed is your modem?"
"I don't think you need to know that."
"Ooookay... go to Settings.  Take a look at the 'Cookies' tab."
"Okay."
"Where's the little tab set?"
"That's none of your business."

So... I guess maybe you saved yourself some trouble in the long run...?  And to answer your question, no, the customer isn't always right.  I was working the counter at a take-out restaurant one night, and a man came in talking on his cell phone.  He asked the person on the line to hold on while he ordered.  So I prepped the food, cooked it, and then took it to the register.  I was waiting for him to finish his conversation before I told him the total of his order, and he just snapped at me WHILE STILL ON THE PHONE, "Well, how much is it?"    Grrrrr.  Rude customers make steam come out of my ears.

But then, on the other hand, I have gone into stores where they act like they are doing you a favor by waiting on you. Maybe the person wanting internet service was afraid you were going to recognize them. They probably post on here.

I agree. The customer is NOT always right. Sometimes, you feel like you should ask them not to pro-create to reduce the number of stupid people.

No, the customer is not always right ... but that's just between you and I ... don't tell anyone!

This is where your sales tactics come into play .. and you make them feel as though they are right, but you end up getting the info that you needed.

However, I agree with Clovis ... maybe you saved yourself a ton of headaches not having them on your books.

Yeah - or where they're out to get you!  I went to the Sesame Street Store in some mall when I was seventeen, and all employees were immediately tasked on keeping an eye on me.  Not on the three-year-olds near the snowglobes, but on me by the stuffed animals.  I got asked if I needed help - by the SAME employee - four times.  I kinda got the feeling that they were waiting to try to catch me shoplifting.  (Granted, most seventeen-year-olds wouldn't be caught dead in the Sesame Street Store, but I'm most definitely a child of the 80s.)  Argh.

I had a customer tell me to "F" off one time cause the lemons in his lemonade had seeds!!  (He did not specify that he did not want lemons in his lemonade) He threw a huge fit in front of the whole resturant.  Come to found out he is a disgruntled postal worker!!  Freakin scary man!!

Another time, an older man came in and picked out some tires to put on his car.  He was talking on his phone at the same time.  Well, needless to say he pick the wrong tires.  We asked him twice if he was sure and yep, "he was certain just put the tires on!!"

He comes in the next day screaming, cussing, and spitting everywhere, (including my face) saying "WE" put on the wrong tires!  It was a policy at that time for the owner to pick them out!!  He wanted a refund for the full amount.  I told him that we could not give him a refund on the labor part of the bill, but everything else we were willing too!!  He told me I was a "F-ing idiot" and many more names that other customers started backing away!!

I got the last punch though.   Funny thing is, that idiot, left his name and work phone number on the fill out form. He got harassing phone calls for a week

People can be so rude!! Cause you know if we didn't have people to work in restuarants or service counters or fast food resturants, they would not exsist.

If the server or other employee is just an arrogant a**hole then screw them and be rude back!!  Treat others how you want to be treated  :)

But I want to be treated nicely... and I also generally want to keep my job.  If I were to be rude back at the restaurant at which I had worked, I would have been immediately out of a job - plus it's a favorite dining establishment of a lot of people, and you never know who's going to go and spread the news that the employees at this restaurant are rude.  I'd rather vent to my manager and coworkers in the back room than screw over my managers and the store owners by acting out in a fit of anger.
