QUOTE A man who was struck by a vehicle early this morning as he attempted to get away from a would-be robber in south Minneapolis has died. The victim, whose name has not been released, died at Hennepin County Medical Center after he was hit around 3:15 a.m. at E. 24th Street and Portland Av. S., said Sgt. William Palmer. The victim and a woman were standing near the road when a man approached and started a conversation. The man then pulled a knife and attempted to rob the victim and the woman. The victim ran into the street in an attempt to get away and was hit, Palmer said. The driver of vehicle is cooperating with police and is not expected to be charged, Palmer said. The robber fled on foot and is still at large. Police have no information about the suspect. Police are investigating the incident as a homicide, the 30th in Minneapolis this year. http://www.startribune.com/local/30093289.html

Another case of the couple should have been armed, thief would be dead instead of that man.
Down here, is some cracked out POS tries that, just shoot the SOB, call the police to come clean up the mess on the side of the road, case closed, no extra cost to taxpayers to keep thug in jail or court costs and +1 less POS drawing air.

I'd rather be judged by 12 then carried by 6. Actually if you shoot someone in defense of yourself or your family you will probably not be charged. I guess I'd take my chances.

I have the ability to make the 1200 meter shot, but some targets deserve the up close kill, where you can watch the life leave the eyes while the blood ebbs from the body.

OK, so if I'm in my car and see you display your gun, POP, it's all over and I kill you and get away with it!
Perfect.

Wow. I didn't know that Eddies was such a rough place. So if you go there make sure you're packing "heat" huh?

QUOTE That's about one of the only nice things about an - 80 degree windchill. It cuts down on a lot of crime, it seems. QUOTE The "Cities of the Dead" are alluring, but dangerous. Don't go there alone-- travel with a group or arrange to attend a tour. The narrow paths and tombs offer concealment for muggers. Everytime you see any mention of the cemeteries there. They always seem to have that same warning. Is it really that bad Grinning Dragon? http://www.experienceneworleans.com/deadcity.html Unfortunately in Orleans Parish, yes. It gets that way. But just as any large city, it is always a good idea to buddy up with someone and pack some sort of personal protection.
The latest issue is with a serial rapist on the loose, and targeting the college aged girls coming home late at night. They had one of the college safety officers on the news, and of course recommended they walk with a friend, or in groups or use the free shuttle service, and have some sort of personal protection on their persons, ie.. tazers, pepper spray, ect. It won't be long until the POS is shot dead, and it will only be a 5 sec. blurb on the news.
If you ever get down this way, those cemeteries are really neat and full of history. I see them everyday in my travels for work.
