Mr. Tarzan--I didn't mean to imply that most people that post HERE want the government's help--but that People (the general public) seem conditioned to seek the government's help--including such trivial things as a dog dispute.  It USED to be that if your neighbor's dog got in your flower bed, you talked to your neighbor about it directly--now, as any small-town elected official will attest, people call someone in government to come over and take care of the problem.
Quote
most here seem to be civil libertarians and want the government to get out of peoples business.
A lot can be read into the red/blue electoral map.  I think that the red section--88% of the Counties in the U.S., and mainly rural areas and small cities--feels the same way--get the government off our back.  The large cities (predominately blue) are dependent on government programs.  The populace is evenly divided.  I view the electoral map as more than a Democrat/Republican split--it is indicative of the Urban vs. Rural, Big Government vs. Libertarian split in the U.S..  It has more to do with where you live than with party labels.

Perhaps the reason people on Forums such as this are more Libertarian than the general populace is that it takes a certain amount of GUTS to formulate and post an opinion--even if done anonymously.

The term "marijuana" refers to the dried material (leaves, stems, seeds) of the hemp plant, Cannabis sativa; this is the form used most commonly in the United States. The term "hashish" refers to dried resin made from hemp flowers. "Hash oil" is a liquid extracted from the plant material, and this form is the most potent. The active ingredient in all forms of marijuana is delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) (Adams, 1942). The most common route of administration for marijuana is smoking, either as a rolled cigarette ("joint" or "blunt") or through a pipe ("bhong"). It can be taken orally, which results in a slower onset but longer duration of action. It is rarely used intravenously due to the risk of complications from injection of undissolved plant material. THC and other cannabinoids are rapidly absorbed from the lungs and bind to endogenous cannabinoid receptors in the central nervous system. This binding is responsible for the psychoactive properties that users seek (Weaver, 2003). Two endogenous cannabinoid receptors have been identified in the central nervous system (Onaivi, et al, 1996) (Stella, N., et al, 1997).

Cannabis is a Central Nervous System depressant obtained from the plant Cannabis sativa, which grows in many parts of the world. It is available for use as a drug in three main forms: as the dried leaves and buds, known as grass or marijuana, as a solid resin (hashish or hash) which is collected from the buds and flower heads, and also as a thick liquid prepared from the flowers or resin (hash oil).

The effects of cannabis depend upon the amount used, its potency, the circumstances and the expectations/mood of the user.  The most common (and desired) effects are talkativeness, cheerfulness, relaxation and greater appreciation of sound and colour. Cannabis users frequently report perceiving an enhanced performance for tasks involving creativity (art, music etc.), although no scientific evidence indicates that the drug improves hearing, eyesight or skin sensitivity. Many users also experience a compulsion for binge eating (known as the 'munchies').

Some immediate physical effects of cannabis use include a faster heartbeat and pulse rate, bloodshot eyes, and a dry mouth and throat. Studies of cannabis's mental effects show that the drug can impair or reduce short-term memory, alter sense of time and reduce the ability to do things which require concentration, quick reactions and/or effective co-ordination.

A common bad reaction to marijuana is an acute anxiety attack. People describe this reaction as an extreme fear of "losing control," which causes panic. The symptoms usually disappear in a few hours.

High doses of cannabis can cause hallucinations and sensory distortions which can be very scary. Those who use the drug when anxious or depressed may find these conditions made worse. Panic and paranoia could then result.

Tests have clearly proved that, while under the influence of cannabis, users cannot perform tasks involving concentration and manual dexterity - such as driving a car - as well as normal.

What you posted is simply one repost of a previous (circa 1970) regurgitation of ancient knowledge. We know so much more now. Cannabis (THC) is an hallucinogen. General anesthetics, opiates and alcohol are central nervous system depressants.

Please spare your ancient reposts of out of date knowledge and do some real studying. Anyone can copy and paste crap...

And that's exactly what that was.    Pure unaldultered BS. UK org? huh?   You call yourself Truth, then proceed to post flat out untruths. Yes, I'd like you to provide further evidence...AND the source. Thanks... :D

Another example of that wonderful logic you keep talking about, truth.  I think it takes more than confusing "your & you're" or "there, they're, and their" to label someone as stupid.
I don't know if the truth is cheap, but I've noticed he seems to be a narcissist.  Oh, were we talking about the word truth, or the forum user? :D

Truth is free.  Look for it.

Minnow mJ only makes you think you're smarter your crap makes me think you're not.  Sorry were the summary statements from the 2002 and 2004 studies too old.  What year do you currently perceive you live in?

You asked for proof.  Quoting studies shows proof of actual research, not wacked out propoganda from your High Times magazine.  I provided results from research.  So step on up, show me some proof that THC is good for you.  While you're at it, show me proof that the other 400 plus chemicals in marijuana smoke are good for you too.  I'll be waiting with bells on.

NPD is just a bit different than trying to point out foolishness.  If you are right I'll say so if you're not I'll say so.  Try me, say something right IRISH.

I'm not wrong just because I won't bend to the liberal BS line and I actually push for a basic standard.
