^^ I remember the Carter administration,Peanut boy was a disaster, jobs were tough, non existent , then Reagan won, soon after jobs were plentiful, interest rate fell, our economy flourish. At one point I was working three jobs at once.
I guess lazy union morons such as comrade Dick Whistle were afraid of work because there were a lot of strikes.
Growing up my best friends dad worked at Hormel. I remember the strike through a pre-teens eyes. I remember it going on, but not really sure what it all meant. I know that my best friends dad worked the picket line and things were really tight money wise for them, as it was even when he was working being a single dad and all. As I've gotten older I respect more people willing to strike for what they believe are better working conditions, and wages. I'm not a union fan per se, I'm a fan of what they represent though. Much like political parties, they are too big for their britches and only believe in more power at whatever cost. I don't think they always have the best interest of whom they are purporting to represent at heart. Back to the issue at hand, it's hard to not be on the workers side when companies are posting record profits, execs are making record bonuses all off the sweat of the workers. I'm not saying they aren't entitled to these things, but it's time to reward those that make these things possible.
-------------- After we screw up health care reform, let's take on the initiative of unscrewing the education system (gov't education) Tacitus: (c. 56 AD-c. 117) "The more corrupt the state, the more it legislates."
