Again. You can have freedom of speech sans being rude, inconsiderate, and out right lying. Especially when all is solely to divide and to rile people up to “support” you or your “cause”.
There is a personal responsibility people need to take. The GOP of years ago were about family values and hatefulness, name calling and lying isn’t part of that and that is what is missing from society today

when think of social interactions via the internet
can remember early on when it was a burgeoning new phenomena
people had only known and were mostly adept at face to face communications and interactions
and were greatly aware about things you just didn't bring up in polite conversations, particularly with strangers
so everybody tended to be keenly aware not to bring up two things . . . religion or politics
and if anybody ever started to drift to those. it was rapidly quashed
also people tended to act very polite and in a civilized manner
like you would in a face to face situation with someone
because that is the only way you ever knew basically
of course there is some romanticizing to all that. it wasn't perfect there were flaws and exceptions
but overall it was that way
at least from my experiences. . maybe was just hanging out in overly hoity-toity venues lol
fast-forward to where it has deteriorated to today
now people have only known the jack-ass internet experience
think we all know what that entails
and EVERYBODY has to tell you their POLITICAL VIEWS (maybe just spending too much time at GEEZER venues now lol )
which guess it wouldn't matter as much if it wasn't spawning and growing and maintaining thing like QAnon , Flat Earth Society lol etc
then you have the effect it has on people's brains period
think of Clarence Thomas wife just to name one
and will end it with these two gems -

Additionally the anonymity of the internet adds to the “bravado” of posters who would never say the things they do if their true identity was known nor would they say those things in person

Since I have a lot of times on my hands I've been playing Call of Duty. There's a considerable amount of racist white kids that call black people the N word, and black kids that call white people names. The other day there was a black adult that was talking about the way someone was playing and he ended his sentence with, "That's why I hate white people" and that started adults on both sides calling each other racist names.
I think the anonymity allows people to show how ignorant they really are without worrying about repercussions.
