looks like a somewhat posh area where they interviewed
saw another thing like that that was outside a school. it was a mixed bag of answers. mostly against. but there were some flippant pro war answers from some young males. hard to tell if they were serious or not.
during the Irag invasion. had people from outside the United States ask me why 'we' were there. told them that not everybody condoned it. that lots of people were in fact very vehemently against it. that action wasn't necessarily indicative of the entire countries wishes.
now that we live in a time where people have a chance to get a better view beyond their own countries propaganda. makes these, imo antiquated warring actions, obsolete.
here's another interview piece. some of the people don't want to say they're against the invasion. in a way not that dissimilar to the United States today. lots of people caught up in their politics and religion. and what you say could get you in trouble socially and at work. churches espousing a political bent. (in Albert Lea you have to be a republican and go to the biggest Lutheran church in town right?)

They say that sarcasm is a big thing there because they think the govt. won't go after them.
My Russian immigrant great-grandfather was apparently treated poorly by a Lutheran foreman while working on the railroad in Kansas. He never got over it, and disliked Lutherans the rest of his life, and his daughter "my grandma" pretty much held similar views. I think a lot of it was because Lutherans, and Catholics, have similar views. So I've been in a Lutheran church 3 times for weddings, and 2 of those times were my own wedding.
Growing up with a Russian grandma was interesting. When she was in her mid 70's she asked my brother and I to move a fridge back into her kitchen. After a 1/2hr of tryng to fit it through narrow door I said, "Grandma, why didn't you have the flooring people put this back in there, since they took it out?" Her response was, "They didn't take it out, I did, and I don't want to move it back".

would be nice if there could be some kind of Berlin Wall event out of all of this.
but doesn't seem likely. can't really even imagine anything as far as outcome of all this. not anything good anyway.
the region's history, the black gold aspect, mans built in propensity for war just seems like a recipe for perpetual strife.
to put it mildly.
seems the only oil nation that rolls along half ways decent is Norway. hah
