If you don't believe we already have starving and malnourished people in this country despite the billions spent on welfare programs year after year, you're nuts.

While no state was perfect, New Hampshire, which scored 77.6, is easily the best anyone can do in the United States, followed by Minnesota (76.2)

In light of what has been happening of late, I would say that giving people food and shelter would outway giving it to Big Business that does not need it. People have been killing children for insurance money. People have been killing and burning people's homes for stuff. This country has been put to the edge by the ones with the most money. We have continued to bring in from other countries when we will not take care of our own. What the answer is I don't know. Turning off the line for the ones that truly need it is just not it. You want mayhem, I can guarantee, that is what will happen. :(

You act as if killing people for profit is an anomaly amongst criminals.  It doesn't mean you give people crap to prevent it.  It has never worked throughout history.  How much money has been thrown at the problem by the political class over the decades to no avail?

I'm all about helping people temporarily but the liberals have made it a cottage industry that provides no incentive for the poor to escape this economic slavery.

I do have to admit, some recipients will figure down to the last cent, what they can make in wage and still qualify for support. If they used that clerical skill for a job, they would not need support. On the other hand, business does the same thing with attorneys and accountants to get every last penny they can get out of the govt. Just a bigger scale. :D
